Ivy's POV

My fingers danced across the keyboard as I worked hard on writing my opinion on the latest music and movies to be released this week.

This week hasn't been too hard. Margie's been giving me a break because of my broken arm, so basically I've sat around and watched movies for free then wrote some reviews on them.

I'm beginning to want to keep my cast so I could do this as a job, forever.

Just as I was finishing my article, someone knocked on my door.

"Come in," I replied without even glancing up from my computer screen.

Someone's heavy footsteps walked in after the door was open and then they sat down in front of my desk.

"One second," I explained as I typed out the last of my thoughts.

I saved the document and looked over to find Ben sitting there with one leg slung over the other, his hands folded in his lap, and a big grin on his face.

"My busy girlfriend," he chuckled.

A big grin grew on my face as I stood up and walked around to sit on the front of my desk.

"You didn't tell me that you were gonna be home this weekend?"

"I wanted to surprise you."

I leaned down and pecked his lips, "Well you did just that. Does your mom know you're here?"

He nodded, "That's actually why I'm here this weekend. I thought since I've had dinner with your family, you could have dinner with mine?"

"I don't know," I bit my lip. "Is it too soon in a relationship?"

Ben shrugged, "So what if it is? If you don't feel comfortable with it, just think of it as having dinner with your boss's family."

His eyes held eagerness.

"Why not?" I shrugged. "But then you have to help me tell my dad that we're dating now."

"What have I got myself into?" Ben pouted.

I laughed and kissed his lips.

"So when is this dinner?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Tonight," he innocently smiled.
"You're lucky I like you a lot," I pouted.

"I like you a lot too," Ben grinned.

I kissed his lips again and walked back around my desk, "Let me pack up and then I have to go get changed for dinner."

"You look great already," Ben commented.

"Smooth, but this is not a 'dinner to meet the boyfriend's family' kinda outfit," I frowned down at my printed skinny jeans and blouse.

"You sure I look fine?" I pouted as I tried to adjust my knee length coral pink dress.

"You looked great in what you wore to work, you look just as amazing as before," Ben reached over with his free hand and held onto my shaking one.

His eyes glanced back and forth between me and the road.

"I've never done this before," I admitted to him as I chewed on my bottom lip.

"You've never met your boyfriend's parents?" He looked at me in surprise.

"I've never really had a boyfriend," I shrugged.

"You're joking right?" He raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Then what did you have?"

I blushed, "It's complicated."

Ben's cheeks grew pink as his hands gripped the steering wheel tighter.

"I was really dumb in high school and made a lot of decisions I wish I hadn't. Please don't be mad," I pouted.

He let a puff of air out of his mouth and loosened his grip on the wheel a little bit, but still had a firm grip on it.

I reached over and kissed his warm cheek.

"Let's not argue before I meet your entire family," I pleaded.

He nodded and sighed.

"Ben! Ivy!" Margie answered the door with a bright smile.

Ben's straight face he's had since our conversation in the car, changed into a bright grin.

Margie pulled Ben into a tight hug for a second before releasing him and moving on to give me a tight hug as well.

"Come on in, Daniel's in the living room with Leslie, Micah, and Emma."

Ben nodded and wrapped his arm around my waist as we walked into the house.

As soon as Margie headed for the kitchen, Ben explained, "Daniel's my dad and Leslie, Micah, and Emma are my sisters."

"You're the only boy?" I chuckled.
"Yeah, a life full of make-overs while I was sleeping, glitter, and protecting my sisters from guys."

I didn't have time to respond before we walked into the living room.

"You brats miss me?" He jokingly greeted them.

Three girls practically tackled him in a hug as they jumped onto him. His arm slipped off my waist to wrap both arms around his sisters.

"Sorry about them, they miss their brother," Daniel apologized.

"Ivy," I introduced myself and put my hand out towards him.

"Daniel. Your father's told me a lot about you."

"Good things I hope," I grinned.
"Very good things," he nodded.

"Leslie, Micah, and Emma this is Ivy. Ivy, these are my bratty sisters."

They all stared at me in awe.

"There's no way this is Ivy. She looks like a model out of mom's magazine," Emma commented.

"Thank you," I blushed.

"Stop embarrassing her," Ben groaned. "That's my job."

I smacked his chest playfully.
