Ivy's POV

A fake smile was held on my lips as I listened to yet another person ramble on and on to me about what a wonderful job Ben has been doing with his company.

"Alright Jeremy, stop boring my girlfriend. Poor thing is dying inside," Ben chuckled as he wrapped one of his arms around me from behind.

Jeremy, one of Ben's many business partners rolled his eyes and grinned.

"Champagne?" Ben offered me.
"Thank you," I pecked his cheek and accepted the full glass from him.

Ben and Jeremy almost instantly struck up conversation about stocks and things like that, leaving me bored once more.

I sipped on my sparkling drink and tried my best to understand what they were talking about, but I couldn't because business just isn't my kinda thing to talk about.

As they talked, Ben rubbed my hip gently as if to comfort me.

I glanced back at his bright blue/green eyes and felt the guilt that's been building in my stomach since I left California two weeks ago.

Why would I sleep with Harry? Was it pitty for Harry?

Ben doesn't even know that I ran into Harry in California; as far as Ben knows, Harry's still in Europe.

Nobody knows that Harry and I slept together, except Harry and I, and I'd like to keep it that way. It's just less complicated. Ben and I can just continue with our relationship and nobody has to get hurt.

Harry can go sleep with as many whores as he wants for all I care, as long as he stays out of my life from now on.

I downed the last of my drink and slipped away to go get more to drink from the bar. Maybe I could get drunk tonight? It's not like I have work tomorrow.

The bar was filled with other people, ordering their drinks. Some had cigars in hand, puffing smoke like a train.

The smell of their smoke hit my nose, instantly making me feel sick to my stomach. I placed my empty glass on the counter and rushed to the bathroom, which I thankfully found was empty.

I pushed open the nearest stall and closed it before bending over the toilet and emptying what little I had on my stomach; champagne and fruit.

Before long I was just dry heaving.

I kneeled on the floor, allowing myself to stop and regain some strength before I stood up and flushed the toilet.

My stomach has been fairly sensitive recently, certain smells set me off.

After washing my hands, fixing my smeared make-up, and popping a breath mint into my mouth, I stepped back out into the event.

Ben has been so busy taking care of this charity event, I haven't bothered even telling him about my sensitive stomach. It's nothing big, probably just a little bug that I caught in California.

"You alright?" Ben asked as I curled up into his side.

"Yeah, just needed some air."

He nodded and continued conversation with his friends, wrapping his arm around me to give me some warmth in this cold room.

It was probably just a stomach bug, I told myself. It'll probably just pass all by itself.

It wasn't until Ben's friends walked away that I snapped out of my trance.

Ben pecked my lips with a smile, "Minty."

I grinned and shook my head at him.

"You wanna know what I didn't realize until you went to California?" He blurted out, taking me by surprise.

"What's that?"
"We haven't Instagramed together for awhile," he pouted.

"I totally forgot the whole 'Maybe Instagram will be our always.'"

Ben chuckled and pecked my lips.

"Let's take a picture of us, with you wearing that super sexy dress," he playfully winked.

I smacked his arms and blushed.

"Excuse me," he tapped a lady on the arm. "Would you mind taking a picture of my girlfriend and I?"

"Sure," she smiled.

Ben pulled out his phone and explained how to work the camera. She took the phone from him and waited for him to wrap his arms around me from behind.

She took several snaps which included; us just smiling, making weird faces, and Ben blowing a raspberry on my cheek while I laughed.

"You two are so cute together," she grinned as she handed Ben his phone back.

"Thank you," I blushed.

Ben went to work posting a couple on Instagram and texting all of them to my cell phone.

I pulled my phone out and found he had only posted two pictures.

The first one was is just smiling

-My incredibly sexy date tonight 😻👸 #whoisthatweirdobehindthesupermodel #forevermine- he captioned the first one.

The second photo was of him blowing a raspberry on my cheek. He captioned it: -Our relationship in one picture 👫-

I hearted both pictures and slipped my phone back into my clutch, making a mental note to post the photos on my Instagram later.

"Let's go eat?" I suggested.
•••

I woke up the next morning feeling extremely nauseous, and it wasn't the hungover kind of nauseous.

Maybe I ate some bad food at the charity event last night?

I tried laying down and seeing if the feeling would pass, but soon gave up and had to rush to the bathroom down the hallway, praying nobody was in there.

My prayers were answered when I swung the door opened and bent over the toilet, emptying my stomach contents into the porcelain toilet.

"Ivy?" I heard Ana ask in a sweet tone as she grabbed my blonde hair and held it back for me.

I grabbed onto the sides of the toilet as I continued barfing.

Ana soothingly rubbed my back as a mother would do for their sick children, something my mother never did for me. My mother always had the maids take care of me while I was sick.

I finally emptied every last thing on my stomach and plopped onto the ground in fatigue.

"Are you sick?" Ana frowned.
"I don't know," I shrugged. "I've been getting throwing up every once in awhile. But other than that I'm fine."

Ana's frown remained as she placed the back of her cool hand on my forehead to feel for a temperature.

"You don't feel warm. Why don't you brush you teeth and go back to bed? I'm gonna set up a doctor's appointment for you."

I nodded in appreciation.
