Chapter 17

Julia's P.O.V..

Friday. 

Finally.

Hallelujah.

I walked out the school with a smile as it is the end of the week, but immediately the smile turned into a frown as I remembered Ryder. It's the end of the week and I haven't heard anything from him since our date.

I made my way to Ben's car and opened the passenger door.

"Woah, I almost fell Julia"

I looked up and James sat there grinning.

"Oh Hi" I said smiled a small smile.

I closed the door and sat in the seat behind James.

"Hi Ben" I said patting his shoulder. I haven't seen him since Monday night.

"Hey sis" Ben said turning in his seat to look at me, "we are gonna pick up Darcy and then go to Brad's House" he said starting the car, "I can drop you off if you don't wanna come".

After Ben stopped talking what first came to my mind was a certain green eyed boy.

"I uhh... I don't mind" I said with a shrug.

"Alright then" Ben said and started on the road.

"Darcy will be happy to see you" James said looking at me from the mirror.

I smiled but said nothing.

This week has passed without me hearing anything from Ryder. He didn't even reply to my texts and I stopped texting him on Monday. But I still couldn't shake out the feeling of unease that filled my gut when I think of reasons why didn't he come to school.

In no time we reached Darcy's nursery and James got out of the car to pick her up. I watched the children with smiles that adorned their faces as their parents picked them up. I also watched how Darcy's face lit up when she saw James and she ran towards him.

She's just so adorable.

I was shook out of my trance as Ben called my name.

"Julia, are you sure you don't want me to drive you back home?" He asked turning in his seat to look at me.

"No, no. it's Alright" I said smiling reassuringly, "I would like to hang with Darcy a little bit actually".

And Ryder too.

God.

"You wanna hang out with Darcy only?" Ben said with a wink and turned around in his seat.

Ughh.

I blushed looking away. James came back helped Darcy into the seat beside me and walked back to the passenger's seat.

I looked at Darcy, "Hi Darcy" I said leaning to kiss her chubby cheek.

"Hi" she said and hugged me.

Awww.

"Darcy sit back in your seat we're driving now" James said as Darcy stayed in my lap after hugging me.

"I want to sit here" Darcy said stubbornly.

"Darc"

I cut off James, "It's alright James. I am holding her" I said wrapping my arms around Darcy.

James didn't say anything and Darcy laid her head on my shoulder. I smiled and kissed her forehead.

After a while we reached Brad's house and James was the first to get out. I looked down at Darcy and she was sound asleep. I smiled softly and turned her in arms so she'd be comfortable.
