Chapter 2...
Julia's P.O.V.
"OH MY GOSH, look at this" Emily exclaimed holding up a notebook that had a cute panda on it.
"That's the cutest thing ever" I said hugging the notebook.
"I can't believe you two are fangirling over a notebook" Jack said rolling his eyes and Sophia nodding in agreement.
"Look at how cute it is, it's worth fangirling over" I said giggling.
"Well you're right, it's one heck of a cute notebook" Sophia said.
Emily, Sophia, and Jack have been my best friends since I can remember. Well, Jack and I have been friends my whole life, he lives right next door, literally right next door. While Emily and Sophia, since the 4th grade, we've always been together no matter what, we've got each other backs.
I remember when it was summer and Jack and I were 7 years old. It was a hot summer day and we were eating ice-cream. Jack got soo hot that he put the ice-cream down his shirt and he relaxed and I just stood there laughing my head off at him.
I bet you're like 'what the hell are they doing?' Well every year, 2 days before school starts, we always go to buy school supplies together. Notebooks, pens, pencils, binders, you name it. The man who owns the store knows us, we're good customers of his. So he's used to our weirdness. I don't know why, but he lets us call him Bob, he says his last name is hard for us to pronounce since he's Swedish.
"What color binder should I buy? The pink or purple?" Sophia asked.
"BOTH" I said to her enthusiastically.
My eyes drifted to the boy who was standing at the cash register, visible from over Sophia's shoulder. He looks familiar I thought to myself. He rolled his eyes at my friends and I, Darcy's brother I realized and glanced back at him, how could I forget his so defined features and his famous eye rolling.
He was wearing a grey t-shirt, black jeans and a black leather jacket, which covered up all of his tattoos. All his hair was hidden in his beanie except his quiff.
He was at the cashier paying for his supplies. He looked like a college student. I watched as he paid and made small talk with Bob.
"Earth to Julia" Emily said waving her hand in front of my face.
"Huh...um..what?" I said shaking my head.
"Where is your mind drifting to?" Sophia asked.
"I think it is that hot guy at the cashier!" Jack exclaimed.
"Not true" I exclaimed as I felt the blood rush up to my cheeks.
"Alright, if it's not true you won't mind if I go and talk to him right?" Jack asked biting his bottom lip, checking him out.
Before I could answer him, Sophia hit him at the back of his head.
"OUCH" he exclaimed, "what was that for?" he said rubbing his head.
"Remember the rules Jack, once one of us has an eye on a guy, you can't even think about him as a target" Sophia said, scolding him like a parent.
"I know Soph, I was just kidding" Jack said giggling.
Yes, Jack is gay. He is my best friend and I don't care what he is. For God's sake, he could be a lizard and I'd still love him to death.
"Guys, chill out I don't even know the dude" I said sort of lying, "I can't believe I call you guys my best friends" I said giggling and Emily nodding.
