Chapter 13

Chapter 13..

Julia’s P.O.V

A couple of minutes later still sat in the position I was in, I heard the shouting inside the lunch room. I pulled myself up and ran towards the door of the cafeteria and pushed the door open.

Ryder had Zack’s collar cuffed in his hand and was shouting at him.

My eyes blurred and I couldn’t focus on what was he saying.

I looked wildly around for any teacher or supervisor so they could pull them apart but there was none. The students stood around them were making it even worse; shouting and whooping for them to fight.

I looked at Zack’s expression and he had a smirk plastered on his face and all I wanted to do was slap it off. He said something and it seemed to anger Ryder even more because he pulled his hand back and punched Zack in the face so hard his face whipped to the side and he staggered back.

Ryder said one last word and he walked towards me.

He gave me one last look and shouldered past me.

I looked around and saw Sophia, Emily, and Jack running towards me.

“Oh God Julia, Are you alright?” Shrieked Sophia once they reached me.

“Why are you crying? Did he do anything to you?” Said Jack looking towards the direction Ryder went through.

“Julia!”

I started crying again and I couldn’t utter a single word.

Jack pulled my arm and walked out of the cafeteria to the ladies room.

We went in.

“But Jake you can’t come in” Emily said pointing towards the sign.

Jake looked at her without saying anything and she looked away.

“Now Julia, will you please tell me what’s wrong?” Jake said calmly, pulling me towards the sink and then giving tissues.

“I-I he c-came.” The words were stuck in my throat and I couldn’t talk through my tears.

“Take a deep breath. Then talk” Jake said.

“She’s not giving birth” Emily said rolling her eyes at him.

“Will you shut up” Jake said trying not shout.

“Okay. Okay. I’ll just shut up” Emily muttered.

“Now Julia, Will you please talk. You’re worrying me” Sophia said holding my hand.

I took a deep breath and told them what happened when I went to return the book.

“Oh God” Emily whispered.

“Why would he even ask you? He’s the jerk who told you it was nothing. It’s not of his damn business.” Jack said standing up and started pacing around.

“Shit. What if Zack tells the principle. They’re going to call you there Julia” Emily said her eyes widening. 

“Oh, god. My mom would ground me for ages.” I said feeling my eyes start to water again.

“I don’t think he’d your name, or else he’d be such a coward” Jake said.

“But he” Emily was cut off by the sound of the bell ringing signaling the end of the lunch break.

‘I thought it ended ages ago’ I thought bitterly.

We stood up.

Jake came over to me and hugged me.
