Chapter 5

Chapter 5..

Julia's P.O.V.

It's been five days since school started and it's Friday, the weekend. School's good, everything is going great, except for Ryder. Mr.Boyle wouldn't let me change my chemistry partner, so basically one of us has to die in order to get new partners. Plus I just can't get him out of my mind, those green eyes, his smil- what am I thinking?

"Snap out of it Julia" I muttered to myself.

Tonight Jake promised to take me out clubbing, so I have the perfect distraction.

I took a shower first, and then I started applying my makeup, until my hair dried a bit. I blow dried and then curled it to perfection. I wore the dress I bought last time when I went to the mall. I wore my black pumps and added accessories to my outfit.

I put my phone, lipstick, and eyeliner in my clutch and went downstairs.

"Where are you going? Dressed up all nice and stuff" my eldest brother, Ben, asked with an eyebrow raised.

I looked at him up and down. "I should ask you the same question" I said, "You look great by the way" I said with a smile.

"No, no, little sis. I asked first" he said smiling. Talk about childish.

"Well Jack's taking me to this new club that just opened" I said swallowing nervously.

"Wha- a club. What?" he said with wide eyes. "You're only seventeen!" he exclaimed.

"I know. I know" I said trying to calm him down. "I promise we aren't going there to drink. We're only going there to dance and have some fun" I explained. "Please, please, please let me go, I promise we won't do anything stupid" I begged with puppy dog eyes.

"Huhh, I'll let you go on some conditions" he said raising his index finger and pointing it at me. "you keep your phone open at all times and you don't dance with strangers".

"I promise" I said with a grin.

"So, where are you going?" I asked Ben.

"To James' place, he's throwing a party" he said checking his phone.

James is Ben's best friend, they met in college, they were roomies.

"Oh my god! I haven't seen him in soo long" I said with a giggle.

The door bell rang cutting off our conversation. "That must be Jack" I said as I walked towards the door with Ben following behind me.

"Hey" Jack said smiling.

"Hi. You ready?" I asked.

"About that" he said scratching the back of his neck. "You're gonna hate me, but I have a date. Josh from school called and I said yes" he said it all so fast in an apologetic tone.

"Oh" came out of my mouth. "It's okay. You go on the date" I said smiling trying not to show the disappointment.

"You're the best. I promise I'll make it up to you" he said and hugged me tightly.

"I'm glad you gave a date. I didn't like the idea of you two going to a club alone" Ben said leaning on the door folding his arms across his chest, I could practically hear him grinning.

"C'mon go have fun. I want details when you come back" I said to Jack completely ignoring Ben and he nodded.

He got into his car and waved at me, then he drove away.

I closed the door and sighed. " I got dressed up for nothing" I said dropping down on the couch.

Ben looked at me for a minute. "Get up" he said.
