Chapter 14..
Julia’s P.O.V
The weekend quickly approached making finally sigh in relief. This week has been a disaster. Ryder wouldn’t still talk to me, just a few looks here and there, which are really glares. I’ve been hesitant to talk to him like what if he pushes me away, and that’s really what’s gonna happen. Also, Ben have been taking Ryder home every day and it gets more awkward day by day. And now we are seated in chemistry class, Ryder beside me staring blankly on the board while the teacher talks away.
“Okay. So I’m gonna distribute these sheets. Start solving now and use help from your partners if you need” Mr. Boyle said earning groans from the class.
“If you were paying attention you would’ve known how to solve everything without any difficulty” He said shutting them up.
I took my paper and started solving.
Thank god I paid attention today.
Halfway through my paper I looked over to Ryder and he hasn’t started solving anything.
Should I ask him if he needs help?
Yes.
No.
“Mr. Smith, why aren’t you solving? Is there a problem?” Mr. Boyle said coming over to our table.
“No.” Ryder mumbled.
“Then why don’t start solving? Julia, dear, why don’t you help Ryder a bit?” Mr. Boyle asked nicely which is very unlike him.
Oh no.
Mr. Boyle then turned around not waiting for my reply.
I solved the remaining questions in my paper in record time then turned towards Ryder.
“D-Do you need any h-help?” I asked hesitantly.
He didn’t look up from his paper, “I don’t want any help from you” he said.
“Ryder please” I said, “just let me help with this.”
He didn’t answer me so I turned back to sit properly in my seat.
“Is this what you call helping?” Ryder asked looking at me.
I resisted the smile that threatened to spread across my face and turned towards him and started helping him.
We finished the paper just as the bell rang and Ryder got up from his seat collected his things and turned around heading to the door.
Just as he started walking he turned around and said, “thank you” then he turned around and walked through the door.
“You’re welcome” I said watching him walk out of the classroom.
The end of the day came by quickly. I hugged Emily, Sophia, and Jake then walked over to Ben’s car.
“Hi” I said getting into the car.
“Hey” he said.
“Are we waiting for Ryder today too?” I asked.
“Julia, you ask the same question everyday and I answer with the same answer every time. Yes we are” Ben said rolling his eyes
“Okay. Okay” I said with a chuckle.
Couple of minutes later Ryder got into the car and Ben started on the road.
Five minutes later I noticed we weren’t going in the same way we go through every day.
