Selfless

Chapter 1

"No I refuse to have Ari as one my bases this isn't fair I want a different girl, literally any will do except for Ramona." Sadia complains to Coach who looks annoyed. She's so annoying, Rani isn't even a base, she's a flyer.

I can't believe I was friends with her in middle school. We became freshmen and the more popular she got the meaner she was to me. She pushed me away, I really don't know why, I guess I wasn't cool enough for her. I really liked her too, had a huge crush on her. So it hurt but I'm over it now. Yet she's still mean to me. She doesn't like Rani either but she didn't like her in the beginning and I don't know why.

"Ari is a good base. You'll be fine." Coach says.

"No, I want a different base!" Why is she cheer captain again?

Coach sighs and scans us. "Madison and Ari you'll switch." I see that I'll be a base for Rani. I smile and go over to her.

"Happy now?" Coach asks Sadia.

"Very." She glares at me as she gets into position.

We continue our practice.

"Hey Ari can I speak to you for a second?" Coach asks at the end of practice.

"Yeah coach." I go up to her.

"I know Sadia is the Captain but I want you to help us come up with what we're gonna do for our video we're submitting for nationals."

I smile. "Yes, I would love too."

"Knew I could count on you." She pats me on the shoulder and I join the girls in the locker room. Most of them are in the showers.

I got into cheer and gymnastics in middle school. Before that I played soccer but I enjoy cheer more, so I just stuck with that. I'm not my mom I don't know how she did both in high school.

I grab my clothes, towel, body wash, and shampoo. When I get into the shower stall I hang the towel and clothes on the stall door.

"Come on." I groan when I finish and see everything I hung up is gone. School just started back and I already have to endure this.

I hear laughing on the other side. I know it was Sadia. Did I say she was mean? I forgot to mention that she bullies me too.

"Can I have my clothes back or at least a towel?" I ask, with the door closed.

"It's all in the trash go get it." I hear her goons giggling. But that's by the entrance. I'd have to walk past all of them. Does she want to see me naked?

I wish there was a locker room just for me. I'm just gonna start waiting till I get home to shower I guess. Rani will be here in a few minutes. She's usually here already. Sadia wouldn't do something likes this with Rani here she's scared of her, everyone is.

"Where's Ari?" I hear Rani ask.

They don't reply.

"Can you get my spare clothes out of my bag please?" I ask from the shower.

"What did she do with your clothes?" She already knows.

"Trash." Is all I say.

"You childish puta! Why do you always mess with her? The school year just fucking started." Rani says livid, she's really protective of me.

Sadia doesn't reply. Wise of her. Rani is scary. I'm lucky she's my best friend.

"If I didn't know any better I'd think you like her. By hiding her clothes and staying, you wanted her to come out naked so you could see her."
