I go up the stairs to Sadia's room holding the bouquet of pink roses in my right hand. We just got out of school and I stopped by the flower shop before coming to her house.
I get in her bedroom where she lays with Nima cuddled into her side.
"Here." I hold them out for her once I'm at her bed.
She raises a brow, showing her confusion but hesitantly takes them anyway. "What's the special occasion?" She sits up.
I smile a bit nervously. "Read the card."
It's been three days since Cancun and I really want another date with her. She said she'll tell her parents so I don't see why we can't date in secret until then. I bought some flowers and had a small card put in with the question "Will you go on a date with me?" She's probably gonna say no.
She reads it before looking to me and sighing tiredly. "Ari what happened in Can-" I interrupt her.
"If you plan on telling your parents there's no reason to wait." I try to reason a bit desperately. I'm tired of waiting, I want more of what we had in Cancun.
Her lips part to say something but she stops and seems to think, then a smile takes way. "When is the date?"
I grin. "Saturday." I have an idea of what I wanna do. I just need moms to let me borrow their penthouse. It's mostly windows in the living room which allows for a beautiful view of the city. All I have to do is decorate a little.
"I'll go." She looks back to the card with a small smile. "This was sweet but you could have just asked, you didn't have to get me anything."
I shrug casually. "I know but it makes it harder for you to say no." Really I did it because I think she deserves the extra effort.
She rolls her eyes and stands up, flowers in one hand and Nima in the other. "I'm gonna put these in a vase."
"Ok." I kick off my shoes and lay down.
A few seconds go by before my phone buzzes in my pocket. I take it out and see a text from Emma.
Emma: I need to talk to you. Can you come over?
I frown. I haven't talked with her in a while, so that's weird that the first thing she does is ask me to come over.
Ari: About what?
I don't trust her. In less than a few seconds I receive a reply.
Emma: It's something you need to hear in person.
I sigh before typing.
Ari: If it's about us, don't waste my time, we're not getting back together.
Emma: I swear It's not, Ari please.
She isn't one to beg. Her pride doesn't let her.
Ari: I'll be over soon.
Emma: Thank you. I just really don't know what to do right now.
I leave it at that, trying to figure out what she wants to talk about. She couldn't give me a little context? She doesn't know what to do? Is something wrong at home?
I get up with a sigh. I guess I'll go over now. I put on my shoes before finding Sadia downstairs adjusting the flowers In a pretty vase on her dining table. I notice the dog is no where to be seen.
"Where's the dog?" I ask.
"Outside and her name is Nima." She glares but it softens when she looks down at my shoes. "Are you going?"
