Chapter 26

I fall on Rani's bed face first. I came over right after school because I have yet to tell her about Emma.

"You ok?" She asks.

"No, Emma's pregnant." My words come out muffled with my face pressed into a pillow.

"What?" She asks, no idea what I said.

I lift my head to look at her. "Emma's pregnant."

Her eyes widen and she lays her phone to the side. "You're kidding."

"No, I would never joke about that, this is a fucking nightmare." I groan and let my face fall back into her bed.

"She's keeping it?"

"She doesn't know yet." I put a hand in my hair. "If she keeps it and it's mine my life is ruined."

She waves her hand, dismissing that possibility. "That bitch cheated on you so much it'd be a miracle if it is yours."

"But it's not impossible." My voice cracks. This is stressing me out so much. I hope it doesn't ruin Saturday for me and Sadia.

"If she keeps it, get a paternity test."

I frown in confusion. "You can do that before a kid is born?"

She rolls her eyes with a smile. "Come on loca, you should know these things."

I huff. "What if it's mine?"

She shrugs. "There's a higher chance of it being someone else's. So just don't go there yet."

I sigh. "You're probably right." I say although my thoughts don't run any less wild.

She shrugs before turning over. I hear her opening her nightstand. "Stop stressing about it for now there's nothing you can do."

I snort without humor. "I wish it was that easy."

She closes the drawer revealing a vape pen in her hand and a smirk on her face.

"This would make you feel better." She puts the end to her mouth and hits it before coughing.

"A vape?" I give her an annoyed look.

She shakes her head. "Not just any vape amiga... it's thc." She gets out between coughs.

"Of course." I give her an unamused look.

She holds it out as if wanting me to take it.

"I'm not using that." I frown

"Suit yourself but it'd really make you feel better." With a shrug she puts the end to her lips and inhales once again.

I stare at it, considering it. Honestly at this point what do I have to lose? I sit up a little and hold out my hand.

Rani looks at me in surprise but with an amused smile. "¿En serio?" ("Really?")

I nod. "Dámelo antes de que cambie de opinión." ("Give it to me before I change my mind.")

"Shit, be my guest." She hands it off to me.

I stare at it in my hand. "What do I do?" I ask.

She chuckles. "Ay Yi Yi, güera. Just put it to your mouth and hold the button down, it's like drinking from a straw except you need to breathe it in."

I put it to my mouth and do just that. Of course I cough my ass off but In no time I can't stop smiling. "Wow, you weren't kidding."

"Yeah. Now be quiet and relax."

I let myself sink into the mattress of her bed and I've never felt so comfortable. It's like I am the mattress.

After a few minutes of silence and my eyes closed Rani chuckles out of nowhere. "You know... I never asked but when you slept with Sadia did you use a condom? Or at least, you know pull out, it'd suck if you got them both pregnant."
