Sadia's POVI wake up to Ari's voice coming through my phone.
"Sadia. Wake up, It's your birthday." Her voice is cheery.
I smile and grab my phone. "How long have you been waiting for me to wake up?"
She smiles, dark hair up in a messy bun. "Long enough. " Then her face turns serious. "I'm gonna call you regular don't put me on speaker." She says it quietly.
I let her hang up and call me back the I answer, putting the phone to my ear. "What's this for?"
"I want to know the plan for today?" She says in all seriousness.
I sigh. "There really isn't one. I'm just gonna tell them when you get here."
"Ok, but I'm gonna bring Milo and Rocco just in case they try anything. They'll just sit in the car."
I honestly don't want to tell them, I'd rather just leave a note and then disappear.
"That'll be good." I reply. Knowing my father he'll probably try to kidnap me on the spot.
"Yeah, I swear my mom and Mamá, got you more than they've ever gotten me for my birthday."
I chuckle. "That's sweet of them."
She hums. "They love you like their own. So, I'm still coming at 12:00?"
"Yep." I wanted to have it tell them as early as possible, to get it over with faster.
"Ok, I gotta get ready, Milo and Rocco should be here soon. Happy Birthday hermosa, I love you." I can hear her smile.
"Thank you, I love you too."
We hang up. I sigh, today is the day. Of course I'm nervous.
I already secretly packed my stuff Friday and took it all to school so Ari could take it to her house with her car.
I know the card my Baba will pull. He wouldn't let me take anything because I bought it all with his money, even the car which I hate I'm gonna have to part with.
While I stay with Ari, I plan on getting a job because I'm not gonna leech off her parents.
I shower and then spend time on my makeup before getting dressed in my desired clothes which are jeans and a short top. Then I put on a red hijab and tie a loose abaya over my clothes.
Maman walks into my room with a small birthday bag just as I come out of my bathroom. "Happy birthday!" She holds out the bag.
"Thank you." I take it and hug her with a smile.
"I hope you like it." She sits on my bed next to me.
I pull out the tissue paper and grab the small box, that holds a bracelet with words written next to It of her love for me.
"T-Thank you." I say getting a bit emotional.
"You're welcome. When will you be telling your baba?" She asks quietly.
"Today. When Ari gets here."
"Oh." She mutters and looks down to her hands. "You know when you tell him you'll never be able to see us again." Her voice breaks a little.
I sigh. "Why don't you leave him? While your here?"
She grabs my hand. "Bebegim, I'm nothing without your father all of our money is his."
"I'm sure Ari's moms wouldn't mind helping you, they're helping me."
She gives me a flat smile and stands. "I don't want to use her parents."
