Chapter 4

I spent the entire night speculating about tomorrow's wedding.That was after the picnic with my friends and also the surprise celebration in Alejo's mansion.

I even called my friend Dara because she'd been urging me to invite her-which I obviously meant to do-but the wedding was rescheduled by my parents and Leo's parents.

Sinayang ko ang oras na ginugol ko kagabi sa pag-iisip na dapat ay itinulog ko na lamang dahil hindi naman pala matutuloy ang kasalan.

Both of our parents briefed us that they would have to leave us here due to an emergency outside the country.

"Mom why won't you tell us what's been happening outside the country?You don't seem like you're worried.." may pagdududa kong sabi nang magising ng maaga.

Mommy sighed, "You know that I sometimes don't verbalize my thoughts and sentiments, hija, and don't feel worried about that as well.Matutuloy ang kasal.." she chuckled.

Nanlaki ang mata ko.

"Mom i wasn't thinking about the wedding!I know that you guys are gearing up something again." ngumuso ako.

Naningkit ang mga mata ni Mommy.

"You're doubting us, don't you?" seryoso ang tanong niya.

"Mom-"

"Stop undermining the circumstances, hija.The emergency has no joke.We would never lie about it." nakataas na ang kilay niya.

Sumimangot ako.

"Mamaya pag naka alis na kami.You would have to stay with Leo sa mansion nila.It's either here o doon sa mansion nila."

Mas lalong nanlaki ang mga mata ko sa sinabi ni Mommy.

What the heck? Seriously?!

"What?Paano si lola?Wala siyang kasama!"

"Ang lola mo ay luluwas sa kaniyang mga kapatid.Dadalaw doon dahil may sakit ang lola Zenaida mo.Kaya naman sasama ka kay Leo.It's also a viable option to deepen your special relationship with him, as this will ensure the wedding goes even more pleasantly." she smiled.

Nararamdaman ko na nagsasabi naman ng totoo si Mommy.Pero bakit kailangan pang kasama si Leo?

"Mom i can manage myself-"

"You heard me right?"

I sighed in disbelief.

"That's just one day, hija.."

Tumango ako.

One day lang naman pala-

"After your stay here pupunta kayo sa sinettle namin na staycation sa Manila-"

"Mom!"

Pakiramdam ko ay maiiyak na 'ko.

"I know I'm sorry anak.Mas maigi na 'yon dahil makakasundo mo naman si Leo-"

"That's too much!" naiiyak ang boses kong ani.

"Riv-oh!I think they're here na.Get ready okay? Pack your things.Ihahatid namin ang lola mo sa sakayan." aniya.

"Ma i can stay here naman-"

"Hija i need to go..please-'wag na natin 'tong pagtalunan.." nakikiusap ang boses na sabi nito.
