Chapter 10

Poltian takes me to a giant door, like the one I went through when I first came here. "Ah, the best part of the day.", he sighs. But we stand there. "Where are we going?", I ask. "Outside of course. We need to see a few people and start planning for the ball on Mart.", he claps his hands excitedly. "Mart?", I am so confused. "Mart is another way for saying Tuesday. Your birthday.", Pane whispers into my ear. I tell myself not to laugh by the way it tickles. But my birthday isnt until 2 months. Finally the doors automatically push open letting in a light I haven't seen in a while.

I am used to usually seeing the sun. Even if being locked in. But instead, I see a giant moon as dwarfs circle around it. And below. There a city. Weird people in high fashioned clothing, while I'm in white jeggings with a black and white stripped shirt with a short leather jacket over the top. Me and Pane hop in a vehicle and Poltian in another. We go through a long tunnel and come out and see crystal like statues, and the ground weirdly has dirt, but have done nothing with it. No flowers or plants or anything. We also go through a crystal gate. I now realize that the vehicle that we are riding on has no wheels, just floating near the ground. It did make me kind of nervous. I glance at Pane who was instructing the driver to follow Poltians car. Then he meets my eyes, but he tenses. I look away, but as always, I can feel his eyes still on me. Sometimes, I feel like I don't control my body because the blush flushes my cheeks. I quietly try to blow it out, as awkward as in seems. There are diamond like buildings. No stores but tubes that people go through that takes them underground, like an elevator. I would be scared even. Yes, I can intentionally take myself from the ground. But what if not in my intentions. Then there are also ones that take you back up. I take my attention from the window and take tiny glances at Pane. Arms crossed, face calm. He sees my attempt and breaks the silence. "So your birthday is on April seventh?", he asked reassuringly."Yeah, you?", he took a glance at my lips. I was wearing a bright red lipstick today. "July twenty-eighth.", he says. We stare into eachothers eyes, like a staring contest until the car comes to a halt. We stop at this huge building. Probably the biggest in the city. Even if I look out the window, I can't see the top. Pane helps me out the car (since I don't know which is the handle) and we go inside a crystal door. But once we are in, the room is full of people. People who pass by as if I didn't exist or people who would smile and wave their hands. But also some who look dreamily at Pane. Poltian rushes up in front of me. "Theses are people you should invite.", he says. "I don't even know who they are.", I say. "Well there's Natiss,
Temra.........", and he continues with the list. "Fine, invite them all.", I say with the careless side of me.

After inviting and meeting all those people, I'm vanished. Pane takes me inside the vehicle and sighs. "You tired too?", I ask. "Yeah, I've only been with Poltian for a few days and man does he annoy me even when he doesn't mean it.", he says. I nod in agreement. "You know, I wish I could like fly around and see the planet in whole.", I said. It just seems amazing to see such a beautiful planet. "Our planet is filled with diamonds,", he said, "Some say it looks very luxurious and beautiful.", he says. He looks at me in his last words. Redness flush my cheeks again. "That red looks good on you.", he says and I start laughing as the corners of his lips come up to a smile. He is so adorable. "Well, every woman in stares at you in googly eyes and sighs and smiles and day dream to have you. Doesn't that bother you?", I ask. He is still smiling. "No. What, your jealous?", he asks. "No it's that it happens to me too and it irritates me. Then woman envy because they think I'm taking everyone in on purpose.", I say. My voice gets cracked at the end. "That was on earth. Not here. If you were to marry someone good and handsome, they'd be happy for you.", he says. "Like you.", I did not know what I just said. "Yeah, something like that.", his smile melts into a grin.

We finally get to the castle which I couldn't see because we went through a tunnel. I get to my lunch room and play music as I eat turkey slices on salad with Terail. After, I sing as well.

After a day in the music room again, we finally get to my room and I take one long last look at him. Arms crossed, shoulders calm, a smile on his face. "What?", he says. "Nothing, just like to look at you.", my eyes brighten which means I am telling the full truth of the way I feel. It just happens and I can't control it. He comes closer. His hand on my cheek, his forehead touching mine as we share breaths. I close my eyes. But then he pulls away. "Goodnight.", he say. He goes back to his position in guarding me. But I wish that was different. I go into my room, not sleepy but don't feel like doing anything either. I take a shower, turn off the lights, and lay there, staring at the ceiling. All I think of is him. Pane.
