Chapter 28

Pane and I walk in hand, in hand. I already see Poltian fanning himself and trwmbling like crazy. He rushes over and hugs me tightly. I was actually taken by surprise. He sigh in releif and lets go.

"Oh goodness, I'm so glad your okay." he says and fans himself again. I lean inand whisper to Pane.

"Is he gay or straight?"

"Am I supposed to know what that means?" he asks. I can't help but laugh. It is so funny how they dont know what crush or gay means.

"It means when you think or like to be a female." I inform him.

"Oh, yeah." he says.

"Some really look like them but you sometimes dont realize it." once he says this I gag. What if a man thinks it's a female and actual like him.

My father is the first one to give me and analyze me threatening. Then my mom and aunt. My aunt Amy was just ashamed of what her daughter got into. I was just sad. Why wouldn't she believe me? He probably filled her with lies. But what happens when the truth comes out, how hurt she will be. Grief came over me. I cried with my aunt.

After seeing everyone for what feels like an hour each Pane takes me to my room abd I fall fast asleep.

"Cammy." I call but she doesn't answer. I hear her call my name again behind me and spin around, but nobody is there. Then I hear her scream again and turn around to see her, holding a knife in the air, yards away from me. I figure what she's doing and start running towards her.

"Cammy, noo!" I scream but she's lowered the knife to her stomach. She stands there, expressionless as a pool of blood forms around her. I push my legs to runs faster and catch her as she collapses. I hold her stomach tightly, trying to prevent more blood from coming.

"He is gone." she whispers.

"Who's gone?" I ask. I feel tears roll down my eyes knowing she wont live. She doesn't answer as her face goes pale and the color in her eyes are drained.

"Cammy?" I whisper. But I already knew she was gone. Then particles go up into the air and she slowly disapears. Away from my hands. I sob into my hands.

I wake up with tears flooding my eyes and my breathing is hard. Pane isn't there. I guess he left early to get ready in being a better guard. But then I see a note on the pillow.

I have to go to training. I have a schedule for the week. Be back before you wake.

I would expect the note to have more lovey dovey in it but that's Pane. He has told me some stuff about his father and they seem pretty alike.

I get up and take a shower. It feels do hot, I tap the scale to ice cold water. It feels so refreshing I sigh in relief. I get out the shower with my hands wrinkled. My head starts to pound. I check the bandage and blood apears on my forehead. I take a towel and hold it there. I hear a knock on the door. I put on robe and answer it. Pane walks in.

"Hey-" he trailed off once he saw blood trickle down.

"I'm fine. I will just find some bandages." I say calming him. I see his nose begin to flare. His fists are clutched.

"No, sit down." he sounds so harsh and violent I flinch. I sit down slowly as he comes with a metal box. He looks crushed and his shoulder aren't relaxed. Ge sits down next to me stiffly. He takes a pad out of the box and slowly takes of the bandage. He looks a little uncomfortable. I snatch the pad and the box away from him and walk into the bathroom.

"Don't."I mutter as I see him come after. He ignores anyway. He stands by the doorway and he watches me as I go to work in front of the mirror.

Cammy POV

"Got some medication for you." I walk inside. He still in bed, looking out the window.

"I told you I don't want no medication." he says. I sigh.
"Fine. I'll just go get a towel I sat." I take my finger and slowly press down the pill until it turns to ask. I take the stuff in my hand and put it in his soup and stirr it. I sit beside him as if nothing happened. I'm a goid actor, unlike Helen. You already knoe she is hidding something by looking at her. I place the damp towel on his head.

"I never thanked you. For helping me. All the times I'd be so confused. You were there." he says and I grin a little.

"You dont have to thank me I chose to anyway." I say casually.
"Still, thank you." I couldn't argue by thd way he looked. So I accepted and nodded. I heard a knock on the door. When I answer it, it's Lomatoda.

"Hey, I don't mean to intrude. I just wanted to check on him to see if he was okay." she says.

"Oh, sure." I give her space to come in. Once he sees him, her eyes are sympathetic.

"I'm not that bad." he says. She squats next to him. I wait outside and give time to talk. I sigh and admire that even though he is sick and is going through a whole bunch of things, he is still in a positive attitude. I sigh. After a few minutes, she comes back out. She closes the door softly.

"He's asleep." she whispers, even though we are outside. "Thank you. He told me how you took care of him. And I really appreciate having you here. We embrace each other for a while before she leaves.

He is snoring once I'm inside. I could do the same for a while. I was just about to leave when,

"Stay." he says. But it seems he was sleeping. He probably sleep talks. I am about to walk out wheb he says it again. I look back and his eyes are open.

"You can sleep here." he says. I besitate much manage to move my legs to his bed. I lay on the left side of his bed. He quikly turns around and cuddles next to me. We both fall.
