I sit on the bathroom seat. There is nothing on my pad. Not even a drop of blood. And I'm already a week late. This can't be happening to me. I can't have. . . . a child. No, I can't think negative. Maybe there's just something wrong I should go to the doctor and check. I slip in some sweats and leave Pane alone. He is still asleep, thank god. I grab my sweater and keys. I stop at the light in front of the hospital. CVS is right across from it. I sigh and rub my face.
"Let's just get this over with." I mumble to myself. As the light turns green, I turn toward CVS.
"Hi, do you know where the pregnancy control is?" I ask the woman smaking on gum. She lifts her head toward the sign.
"Oh, thank you." I feel stupid as I rush through the isle.
*****************************************
I pace in the bathroom. Pane knocks on the door."Hey are you alright." Finally, I look down at the meyer to see the green plus. I'm pregnant.
