Lucas' POV
--------------------------------
My eyes blinked open. An unfamiliar room came into view as my eyes adjusted to the light. I sat up, looking around. It looked to be a normal bedroom, baron, but normal. What happened to me? I remember...Eden...and the guild...I wanted to fight but Brandon and Ritchie wouldn't let me. And now I'm here...I go to get out of the bed. I should probably figure out where I am.
I hugged myself as I walked. The only sound I could hear was the slap of my bare feet against the cold, stone floor. I realized that my shoes were gone after getting out of the bed, and my normal clothes had been swapped with striped pajamas in various shades of blue. I did like them to be honest, they were comfortable and in my favorite color. I looked up, noticing that I has reached the end of the hall. I large door stood in front of me. I went to turn the nob but the door flew open. I jumped back, confused and surprised. I looked into the room to see the one and only Eden. He looked at me with a smile that made me uncomfortable. The reason for this is the fact that that was the same kind of smile he gave me when we first met, and it turned out to be very misleading. "Ah...Lucas, please, do come in." He spoke, his smile was welcoming but his tone was sinister. Yet I entered regardless. The door closed behind me, I heard the click of a lock. I guess there's no escaping now...He gestured for me to sit in a cushioned chair on the other side of his desk that was closer to me. I sat there without a word. I don't know what it is that makes me want to listen to him, perhaps it's fear. Maybe it's curiosity. He relaxed, leaning forward, purring his elbows on the desk and clasping his hands. "So...I'm sure you're very confused as to why you're here." He started. I nodded as he was right. He hummed, closing his eyes. "Well, I'll start by letting you know that I'm the one who's been controlling you." He told. My eyes widened a bit, shocked but also unsurprised. Of course he would do something like that, and he's the only evil person I've come into contact with that could be capable of such a thing. "How?..." The question escaped my lips. I couldn't help my curiosity, my desire to have all of the answers. Answers he could give to me. He chuckled, opening his eyes. "Your dreams." He answered. I blinked, the answer interested me. I've never heard of mind control like that, and I wouldn't have thought of it either. I would say that he was the cause of my nightmares but I've always had them, ever since Nesso died I've had the same nightmare revolving around that very event. "Why?" I had to ask. "Well, for information of course, you are a member of a guild that's very close with my enemy." He answered. That answer didn't surprise me at all. "How long?" I asked, that's what I really wanted to know. His smile turned into a smirk. "Since the moment I met you." He answered. His words repeated in my head. Since the beginning. I've been a puppet all this time..."D-did the other's k-know?" I asked, my voice cracking. My body started to tremble, awaiting the answer. "Michael found out when he went into your head, I assume he told the other two." He answered, I know he's telling the truth, that's what makes this worse. The fact that I can't doubt his word. My mind started to spiral. What did this mean? Why wouldn't they tell me any of this? There's got to be a logical explanation, but I can't think of a good reason for them keeping this from me. The room around me starting to blur, I could no longer feel the chair beneath me. I felt as if I was floating in an endless black void. That's when I felt a strange warmth...a blanket? And the muffled sound of someone saying my name. I suddenly became aware of my breathing, it was quick and heavy. And tears...tears were streaming down my face.
It felt like I stayed there for hours before I finally felt the chair under me again and the room came into focus. I was right, there was a blanket wrapped around me. Beside me, leaned against the chair was Eden, whispering my name. My hand moved to grab his instinctively. He stopped saying my name, opening his eyes to look at me. I looked back at him. I know he's supposed to be the enemy, but at the moment, he's the only one here. Besides, he helped to calm me down, so he may not be so bad...He sighed, raising his other hand he summoned a handkerchief and started to rub my cheeks with it. I realized that he was cleaning my face from the tears. My body started to relax, I became aware of my tired state. Having a panic attack takes a lot out of a person. It's been a while since I've had one, I guess it was inevitable. My eyes drooped, sleep weighed down on me. Until my eyes closed and sleep consumed me.
Eden's POV
------------------------------------------
I watched as Lucas fell asleep. I truly did not expect him to have that reaction, despite seeing his nightmares. He always feared that his friends would betray him and my answer brought that fear to reality. Of course it's not like he asked if I had anything to do with them not telling him, I would have told him if he asked, but he didn't. That was a mistake on his part. My attention was changed from Lucas to the sound of explosions. I see...they've come for him. I suppose this is perfect timing since he's already asleep...
-To Be Continued-
