POV Jack

Sleeping feels actually bad. I'm just afraid that I'll fall into coma again while not being awake. Doctors said that that kind of exposition to cold by someone who was before allergic, like so allergic that could die, it was one of the reasons why I didn't wake up.

I'm staring at the fire stations ceiling, everyone's asleep around me. We're on night watch so we can have a fast run to the emergency site if there's an alarm. I look at the digital clock on the wall, the flickering red numbers are showing that it's just over two am.

After standing up I headed my way to coffee room. I took out my mug that the guys gave me. It made me laugh, they had taken a picture around me when I was at coma. Hiccup and Hiro had drawn me mustache and then they made some funny faces next to me. When they gave me the mug Punzie told me that she tried to stop them but they ended up taking the picture anyway. They thought that I might like it when I wake up. And they were right.

My mug was filled with cool water once I went back to the sleeping room. I sat down on my bed and I closed my eyes for a while. A sudden whimper from other side of the room made me open my eyes again, it took a while until I was again used to the darkness which was only lightened by the red numbers from the digital clock.

I listened and I watched at my sleeping friends, to see who was having restless sleep. Then I saw the new girl, Elsa, turning and twisting in her sleep. She was mumbling something so I carefully stood up and went to her bed.

Then I noticed that she was actually sobbing in her sleep. She was having a bad dream and she muttered out some stuff about her parents. I put my mug on the floor as I kneeled down. My hand reached to her shoulder, to give her a gentle poke to wake her up. I knew too well that waking up a girl might be like waking up a sleeping bear if it's done too roughly. I still remember the beating that my little sister gave me.

My mouth opened to whisper her name, just before my fingers would touch her shoulder.

"F-Frost... C-come back," she mumbled quietly in her sleep. I froze to my spot as she flipped herself to her side, now she's directly facing me. A tear runs down her eye.

I'm stunned, staring at her. Did she just say my nickname?

"D-don't go...," she whispered and crawled herself into ball like position.

Next words of hers, they were so clear and ended up in her crying in her sleep.

Why don't you remember?

My breath is now rapid, my heart is rumbling like thunder inside my chest.

She started shaking, crying against her pillow. "Frost," she whispered again with her voice being raspy. Not even once did she open her eyes. It was like and instinct when I pushed myself up from the floor. How I sat on her bed and then lifting her up in my lap. She gasped but then she hangs on to me, burying her face against the crook of my neck and crumbling my shirt in her hands. Her cry muffled against my body and I felt my shirt being wet from her tears that streamed down from her.

Then her crying ended, lot faster than it started. I'm still embracing her, while she's breathing and then I feel her hands traveling up from my back. Her fingers ran through my hair and she's now panting.

With single push she suddenly shoved me back from her. Her eyes were swollen and she's staring at me in shock. Just when I was about to say something she gritted her teeth together, her expression was sad and betrayed looking and then. Then she gave me a slap to my face, it burned my cheek and tickled after.

"Don't touch me," she hissed and pulled the cover better on her. She's right. I shouldn't touch her since I'm her chief. Whatta heck am I even doing right now?
