Step 13-Stay strong!
After the last period, I didn't linger around the school any longer. The stares of Gavin's admirers and Stacey-Gavin fans—the pro Stacey-Gavin relationship thing, who never moved on from that—were unbearable. When Gavin left me in the music room, I had to talk myself to walk out of the room. "Okay, Joanne. Stare's won't kill you..." I told myself after the warning bell rang. I took a shaky breath and pushed the door open. Thankfully, there are few people around the hallway when I came out. I sighed and dashed towards my next class, Biology.
I was panting when I got there and (Thank God) Mrs. Crosswalker wasn't there yet. Rebecca, June and I had Biology class together. They shot me a worried look then a death glare. "Where were you Joanne Paxton?" June hissed.
"I was with Gavin in the music room. He said he wanted to talk to me about...my situation." I said as I sat down. Before I could even explain further, our Biology teacher came in. "I'll tell you more, later at the café."

The café's motto 'This is not a café, but a relaxing second-home for everyone' really stuck on me. Even though I was here as an employee, I felt very relaxed here. The combination of the warm atmosphere and easy-to-get-along customers made me forget the heart aches and pain I had. Even Gavin's presence relaxed me, well a little. I was afraid that someone from school might stop by here and see Gavin here.
"Do you have time after your shift?" Gavin whispered as I placed his order on the table.
"I don't think so. I have...things to settle," I said.
"Then call me after you settled everything," he said. I nodded and turned around to welcome a customer.
My heart almost stepped out of my heart when I saw Logan. Seriously, why did it always do that whenever Logan's there?
"Good afternoon sir," I said with a cheery-waitress-voice.
"Hey Joanne," he said with a small smile then went to find a table.
I looked at Rebecca who was standing on the counter and motioned for her to take his order. She nodded and went to him while I stood on the counter to for another customer.
Hours later, our shift ended. The manager let us stay at the café for a couple more hours to rest and relax and have the place for ourselves. While we drank our coffees, I told them the culprit who started the rumor. Becca almost spilled her coffee the moment I said it was Stacey, "What? Why?" she asked.
"I don't know. I don't think I want to know," I said. I myself couldn't even understand why she did that. She already got over Gavin and she already has Logan, so why bother spreading a rumor about me? Did ignoring each other wasn't enough for her? I was really clueless.
