Rayllum AU-I know you

Bored

I promise it'll pick up, but we need to introduce our now grown up main characters.

A now 20 year old Callum sat through class, completely bored. Usually he loves history, but today he just wanted to go back to his dorm to study for his exams. He glanced a look at this one girl, Katie, who was watching him the whole class. His face heated up and he quickly looked at the board to see his teacher drawing something.

"Shit." He mumbled, running his hand through his hair. He already missed the lesson because he was so lost in thought. He felt a tap on his shoulder and there was Katie. She had beautiful elbow length brown hair, and brown eyes. She wasn't the most eye catching girl ever, but she was pretty.

"Call me." She mouthed, handing him a folded piece of paper. Callum took it and turned around, unfolding it quietly. Of course it had a number, but it also contained her address. Callum stuffed it into his pocket and focused on a piece of lint. 

"The assignment is due in a week, I want it typed!" The history professeur yelled.

The whole class got up and started leaving. Callum closed his notebook and stood up, getting away from this day. He plugged in his headphones and walked to his dorm, hands in his pockets. He used his keys to unlock the dorm, to see his best friend Soren  on his side of the room, doing work on the bed. He was sprawled over it in a body blanket. He looked pretty miserable.

"Hey." He mumbled half heartedly. 

"Hey." Callum said setting his bag on the floor with a sigh. Soren looked up from his work with a frown.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"A girl want me to go out with her." Callum mumbled, falling onto the bed.

"So....." Soren said. Callum sat up and looked at his hands.

"I haven't gone out with anyone since I was fourteen." He said quietly. Soren looked up in confusion.

"Why?" He asked. Callum looked away.

"I had.... A bad experience." He said. 

"What happened?" Soren asked. Callum looked at him, lip trembling.

"I knew this girl for one day, and then she was taken away. But in those pathetic 24 hours, I fell in love like I never thought I would." He whispered. Soren fell off his bed and crawled onto the floor to plop on Callum's bed.

"I loved her, even if it was just a day." He said. Soren pulled him tight into a big.

"What's her name?" Soren asked.

"Rayla, her name's Rayla."

"A beautiful name." Soren said.

"For a beautiful girl." Callum finished. 

"Don't you have her number, a photo?" Soren asked. 

"I forgot to ask, and when I realized it was too late." Callum said.

"And a photo?" Soren asked.

"Ezran has them, he's never changed his wallpaper since." Callum said quietly.

"Do you have the photo?" Soren pressed. Callum grabbed his photo and quickly unlocked it. It took him a hot second to scroll through six years worth of memories before his eyes landed on three memories. One photo and two videos, He clicked on the photo. He looked at it, heart melting and breaking at the same time.

"She looks amazing." Soren remarked,

"Yeah, she is."
