It was 3pm
Rayla was hungover
Her head was pounding, and she didn't even drink much.
She closed her laptop and stumbled out of her bed, careful not to wake Amity. She was still her her party clothes, but they were stained with beer. Her head was throbbing with pain, her legs could barely register that her head is telling them to walk. She let out a shutter, everything was cold and dark. Desperate, she stumbled into the bathroom and struggled to find the light switch in the dark. Her hands ran over some bumps.
Bingo.
She turned on the light and hissed in pain. She shielded her watering eyes and let them adjust. She stumbled to the shower and turned the tap all the way until it was boiling. She slid down the glass doors and hugged her knees into her chest. Rayla listened to the water run, concentrating on the cold tiled floor. She breathed in deeply the growing steam. Slowly, she peeled her dress off and shivered at the slight cold air. She opened the shower door and let all the steam hit her face. She stepped in and slid on the floor in relief. The shower wet her hair, getting all the oil wash away, she watched the water turn from red to clear. She hit her head on the headboard when she was with Nick.
The shower is the safest place.
The hot water calmed her, letting all her feelings slip away. She gently lathered soap on her hair, then conditioner. After that she couldn't take it anymore. She slid to the ground and sobbed into her knees, letting the water pour on top of her.
