"You- You guys kill people... Like actually?" I stepped away from everyone, especially Scarlet who was oddly enthusiastic about it.
"Duh, they call us the Seven Deadly Sins for a reason." Weuss explained like it was common knowledge that the people standing in front of me were in fact some of the most wanted people in America.
Weuss continued, "There's seven of us and we've been labeled as deadly."
"I wonder why that is." Tiger said sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
"The- you- I-" Stumbling over my words I tried to make sense of it all. Everyone in this room is dangerous, they could all take me down in a second if they wanted to. One of them would be all it takes. These people have never been caught and with the amount of crimes that they have committed makes it even more dangerous. Fear crept into my soul, and when that happens I'm at my most reckless.
I took another step back and was met with another wall.
"If that girl doesn't stop narrating us as walls, I swear." Kai exclaimed.
'If this boy doesn't stop breaking the laws of reading, I swear.' I thought inside of my head.
"I heard that!"
"No you didn't!" I tried to convince him.
"Convincing will not work, young one. You need to use the force."
"We're not in Star Wars."
"Yes we are. You need to believe."
"Shut up."
"You do not talk to a Jedi with such low respect." Kai defended with a hand over his heart.
"Now I do."
"Such a rude child!" Kai turned to Mickey, "Did we ever raise a child with such manners?"
"I'm sure we didn't" Mickey answered disappointed as Kai shook his head.
"How could she speak that way to me?" Kai started to wipe away fake tears and Mickey hugged him for comfort.
Mickey's head snapped towards me and he, like Kai, shook his head.
"Disgraceful." He hissed.
"What?" I questioned. What is this?
"Such a rude, rude child." Val whispered.
"What is wrong with you people?" I yelled. I was finally tired of their antics and I was angry that they continued to joke around with my safety and feelings. I'm over it. I just want to go home and live my peaceful life before they came and shoved me into their white fucking truck to take me to this really nice fucking mansion. I also really wanna take my math test because I did not sit here and study for nothing!
"Just give me a ride back to school. I'm sick and tired of you guys. It isn't funny anymore, okay? I'm not going to tell anyone, I promise. I just really need to take this math test."
Kai stepped out of his motherly mode.
"Does she not get it?" He questioned.
"No," I answered, "she does not. Put me back in school, NOW."
I have never been eager to go back to that hell hole.
"We can't," Weuss stepped up, "I didn't know that you were that much of a nerd. If you need help with studying we can call our friend Aundin-"
"No!" I cut him off, "Just take me back to sch-"
"No." Kai repeated my words but his voice left no room for argument. It was stern, powerful and almost dark. It almost scared me. His voice then lightened up, "Sorry we can't, and you just got a taste of your own medicine."
"But..." I wasn't sure how I should respond given his voice earlier, "Just please. I'm begging. Take me home."
"We can't."
"That's all I want."
"I get that but-"
"If you get it then send me back."
"We can't." His voice became stern, however it was getting me pissed.
"Why not!?" I exploded at Kai. His eyes went wide for a moment but then gave me a hard look.
"The reason you can't leave is-" He stopped and smirked at me, "Confidential."
"Forget you," I screamed, "Forget all of you!"
I turned to walk out the door but Jack, or as I like to call him, Mr. Skeleton, was blocking it.
"Move, Mr. Skeleton." I ordered him
"Who?" He questioned.
"I don't have time for-" I was cut off by a hand covering my mouth.
"You talk too damn much." I heard Scarlet say before she dragged me up the stairs and down a hall against my will. We arrived at a door and she told me to 'Shut up, bigmouth' before she threw me into the room and slammed the door in my face. As I heard it lock I thought 'Who's the rude one now?'
I took this time to look for an escape route. The room was about medium size, the walls painted blue and a queen sized bed took up the far right. The bedsheets on the bed were nonexistent and there was nothing else decorating the room. I checked the window above the bed, however it was barred up so no luck there. At the top there was a vent, and if there's anything I've learned from action movies, it has to be that there's always a vent to escape through. To no avail, the vent was barred up as well. What the fuck.
I heard a knock on the door and immediately jumped down and sat on the bed. The door opened to reveal Kai standing in the doorway with a huge smile.
"Hey." He said and walked towards me. I stared at him cautiously. He pointed at the spot next to me on the bed.
"Can I sit there?"
"No." I answered.
Suddenly a loud laugh came from his mouth, startling me.
"What do you want?" I snapped at him as he took the unwanted liberty of sitting next to me anyway.
"Nothin'." He looked around the room almost as if to feel it out. Has he never been here before? It is his house. Maybe he hasn't because this is where he keeps his prisoners. I accidentally scoffed out loud causing his attention to roam towards me.
"Then can I go? Can I leave? What am I even doing here?" I bombarded him with questions once again. I couldn't not do so, I don't know any other way to get out of here.
Kai looked at me with a familiar, infectious smile. For some reason my heart sped up, but then I remembered that I hated him, especially right now.
"No." He said simply.
"Why not?" I asked. I demanded to know why they even need me so much.
He pulled me closer to him, too quick for me to react and wrapped his arms around my waist, pushing my face into his chest. I wanted to push away, and I did fake a little bit. I won't lie. But his chest was so comfortable through his shirt that I felt myself sinking into him.
It was when I was basically asleep that I heard him say, "I want you to remember how much I need you."
I think I might have heard it wrong anyway. Que sera, sera.
