Kai was standing there looking at us with the coldest look in the universe.
I had absolutely no words. He was giving me a hard, cold look, I took a stranger's hand just so that I could be free, which on my part wasn't the best choice but it was better than being kidnapped. Can you blame me?
"Hayley." He said still with the cold demeanor," Why are you with this man?"
"Uh..." I trailed,"Well, I don't know...He said he would take me home and-"
I was cut off by Kai's laugh that held absolutely no happiness.
"Take you home?" He asked just above a whisper.
I nodded my head, unable to say anything to his angry face.
"Sweetie...The only thing this man would've done is kill your ass. Have you ever heard of stranger danger?"
"Yeah I have...I almost yelled once you guys, might I remind you, KIDNAPPED ME!" I yelled. Everyone went silent. I don't know where this sudden confidence came from but it even surprised me.
"Well at least we did it in a fashionable manner! This guy would've taken you outside and killed you then and there!"
"Who the hell cares about fashionable manners, Kai!?"
"I do!"
"Well, I don't! I hope you realize that I haven't been the happiest of people sitting up in a goddamn room and having to listen to you tell me stories about killing people! Have you ever once thought that I might, just maybe miss my family? My friends? No of course you don't...You're just same old Kai that cares about nobody."
"I care about nobody?"
"From what I understand, yes. Or maybe you do, I wouldn't know. All I understand is that you're a cold-hearted monster."
Of course I didn't mean any of this. My mouth was just rambling off because I was so angry.
Kai stood there for a moment trying to process everything that I said. Then he nodded.
"You're totally right now that I think about it..." Kai said," You know what, go with this man. Let him lead you to safety with your family."
I just remembered that this guy was standing there this whole time.
"A-Alright." I stuttered,"Fine."
"Good. Leave." He turned around and walked away. And for some reason I felt like my world had just come crashing down.
I felt lost. As if someone had grabbed my heart out of my chest, put it in a blender and made me drink it. I felt as if the world was crashing down on me. I don't know why I felt this when a person that turned me down I had just met a while ago, but even if...It still hurt. And the fact the donkey man was still grabbing my arm and tugging me towards the door, didn't help my smoothie heart.
"Hey, can you loosen up a bit?" I asked him.
He just looked back at me, smirked and continued pulling me, only harder this time.
"Hey...Hey!" I yelled at him. He stopped in his tracks and looked at me coldly.
"Listen, I said I'll take you home, didn't I ? I've been trying so fucking hard to be nice this whole time, but in order for you to get to this goddamned home you keep talking about, you need to SHUT UP!" He yelled at me.
I flinched at his words and tone.
'I didn't know grown men went through period mood swings after menopause.' I thought about how old he was.
I didn't realize I had said that out loud until he looked at me with anger clear in his eyes. He sucked in a deep breath, as if trying to calm himself.
"I'm going to tell you one more time, and you're going to listen and obey..." He paused and gave me a harsh glare,"Shut. Your. Trap."
I paused. Well, I was already paused, but I paused even more as if I were a remote-controlled robot and someone had a million pause buttons and was pressing them all at the same time for about 5 seconds but then decided to randomly press play, which caused this to happen.
"Who says that anymore?" I blurted out, actually I was curious. Did his mom say it? His dad, step-dad, brother from another mother...Man, that's one hell of a family. Oh, maybe the boy across the street that came out as gay a couple weeks ago says it.
I again was talking out loud and now Donkey Man's face was bright red with anger. For some reason, I enjoyed making him angry.
"How many times do I have to tell you to shut the hell up!?" He yelled again more forcefully. My smile faltered but my words didn't, only because my mouth was on auto-pilot.
"More than just now." I answered.
Suddenly I felt a heavy force hit my cheek.
"Shut up!" He yelled after hitting me.
Tears sprung to my eyes as I looked at him.
"You know, you bitch, it's a free country. I can yell and scream and talk if I want to!" I yelled right back at him.
"Not while you're with me and my men. You won't be able to do anything." He muttered. He pushed me into a car and slammed the door.
"W-Wait...Didn't you say that I was going home? What the hell do you mean when I'm with you and the guys?!"
I heard Donkey man talk to someone through a hidden microphone I didn't know was there before.
"Yeah," He said affirmatively, "Tell the boss I have her."
Suddenly Kai's words came to my head. This guy would've taken you outside and killed you.... My eyes widened. I fought to get out of the car but the back doors were locked as the man climbed in the front seat. Child lock, I squinted my eyes, my worst enemy.
Then, I had no choice than to do something I never thought I'd do. I smashed the window with my hands...
And boy did it hurt like hell...
