Chapter 20 - Reunited Part 1

Their heads snapped in my direction with a look of curiosity, however a hint of disbelief in Scarlet's.

"Where?" Kai asked me looking around.

"There," I called out and pointed towards the grey, brittle wall that was on the other side of the room. It had a slight outline around the right side of it in the shape of a door which was easy to miss if you didn't look closely.

It was Scarlet's turn to scoff, "There's no door, genius. That's a wall."

I let go of Kai's hand which left mine feeling cold and started to make my way to the other side of the room. However, before I could get any further, the "door" I spoke about made a 360 turn, scraping the ground with a hideous, scratchy sound and revealed a certain group of people that we couldn't wait to see.

"Stop, guys! I don't wanna hear about how many girls you laid two months ago! It's disgusting!"

"Come on! But the way they scr--"

"Oh, my goodness! Someone help me push this wall!"

"Uh, are you assuming it's gender? It likes to be called a door. I mean it opens like one, doesn't it?"

"Peter, we are not getting into this conversation."

"But he has a point."

"Guys, come on. Take Mickey seriously. We have to find Kai, Hayley and Scarlet before the time runs out. Jack, push the door-wall thingie. Mickey's too weak."

"I'm not weak, I'm just growing."

"Growing a di--"

"If you don't shut up, I'm going to force Shakespeare sonnets into your ears!"

"Down, Tiger, down."

"Jack, how's that wall coming along?"

"Oh, sorry."

The wall/door then fully slid open to reveal six members of the gang who all came walking in an argument.

"Jack, you need to be more attentive." Tiger confronted Jack with his hand on his shoulder. Jack nodded understanding whatever Tiger was telling him.

"I told you, I don't read sm--" Mickey started with an annoyed yet careful voice.

"You have to start somewhere," Val pressured Mickey trying to hand him the phone he held.

"No, no way."

"You're making a mistake."

Val had his arm around Mickey as they continued to walk towards the middle of the room, straight past me.

"Weuss, where does it say the next tunnel is?" Peter asked Weuss as the two made it past a dumbfounded Scarlet.

"Uh, our left? Or is that the right?" He answered as he tilted his head at a piece of brown paper that he held in his hands.

"Let me take a look," Kai interjected as the two of them were about to walk past him also. Everyone's heads popped up as they ran towards him yelling about how happy they were.

"Ha! We found you here! I knew we would didn't I, Jack?" Peter asked with joy lining his voice.

"Not really, you said if he doesn't show up soon on his own accord then you will burn his body because of the emotional pain he's causing you. But, sure, let's go with you knew. Let's go with that." Tiger explained in a monotone voice.

Kai's handsome face morphed into confusion, "Burn me? Am I a witch?"

"If you count the magic you've worked on me, then sure." I meant to think in my head however, said aloud. My eyes widened as I slowly looked up to see Kai with that same sexy smirk on his face.

"Seems like baby Hayley is learning the ways of flirting." He stated with approval in his voice.

The rest ignored this mild outburst of my mindless thoughts and Kai's remark, which I was thankful for, and instead let go of Kai and turned to Scarlet, whom I had walked up to while the love for Kai Show was occurring, and I.

"Hey! I didn't know you guys were here, too!" Mickey exclaimed.

"Of course you didn't. You were too busy forcing Kai to bear your children." Scarlet quickly threw back.

Mickey smiled broadly, even though he was just insulted.

"I missed your insults..." He sighed, putting hand on his heart.

Scarlet gave him a small smile," Really?"

"Nope," He replied, popping the 'p'.

I rolled my eyes at their exchange," How'd you guys get in here?"

Val pointed to the secret door that was carved into the wall, "Through the door." He said in a duh tone.

"There was a door in the wall that led Tiger, Jack and myself through a tunnel. Somewhere in there, we met up with the rest of them by accident. By taking one wrong turn that could've led us to the sewer, we ended up here." Weuss stepped up and explained.

"I see..." I thought to myself.

Kai walked around the group and stood by Weuss to look at the piece of paper Weuss held.

"Is that the map?" Kai asked.

"Yup, same place where we left it." Weuss nodded with a small smile as memories flashed through his brown eyes.

"Perfect, I thought someone might have moved or burned it."

"We took so much time to make that map when we were kids though. Who destroyed that amount of wonderful work?" Mickey asked with disbelief in his voice.

"Uhm, Edei maybe? I mean I'm not sure." Val sarcastically answered.

"Okay, so according to the map, we can go through the back and make our way to the shack. Luckily nothing's changed." Peter said as he also looked over at the map.

I stared at Kai and the way he took charge and position. His muscles flexed through the dirty shirt that was stained with droplets of blood and dirt as his eyes blazed with curiosity and fire. He licked his lips and suddenly I had the undying urge to his lips again. Kai looked up and caught my gaze.

"New task," Kai called everyone's attention by raising his voice but remaining eye contact with me with his piercing eyes, "We are going to escape Chase Bank style."

"Chase Bank style?" I questioned.

"We were robbing Chase Bank in New York and the security there was high key. They had officers on every corner and we had to divert or distract them while trying to keep either the money or this little girl that we had to protect at the moment safe." Scarlet answered for me then her face scrunched up in confusion," But who are we keeping safe, Kai?"

Kai's eyes continue to stare into my own, making me feel vulnerable under his gaze.

"My one and only," He pauses dramatically and looks around," Guys, this is the part where you gasp dramatically."

"Oh's" and "right's" were exchanged throughout the room before a huge gasp was heard from each and every one of them.

"Hayley."
