The glass shattered and blood ran down my hands. Then adrenaline in my veins made me ignore the pain. I heard Donkey Man screaming at me but I stuck my hand out and unlocked the door from the outside. I heard a door open and close and right when I pushed open the door, the donkey man was standing right in front of me...Wait...Where the hell did the donkey go? Anyway, before he could grab me, I kicked him right between his legs. His face swelled up with pain, he grabbed his area and fell to the ground. I jumped out of the car causing me to jump on him and he groaned in even more pain.

"How much do you weigh?" He groaned.

"156.5 pounds the last time I weighed myself." I told him casually and then I bolted towards the mansion door.

"Get back here!" He growled, taking off after me.

Now, here's the thing about me and running. We have a complicated off and on relationship. We're good with each other for about a minute before we start arguing and all hell breaks loose. Running always picks on things about me. My stamina, momentum, pace and my FLIPPIN MILE TIME! We broke up for Freshman year but when Sophomore year rolled around and we got back together....The struggle of a toxic relationship....

I ran up to the door and banged on it loudly. I heard that in movies, if you do this enough then a hot guy in bathing trunks will open the door and rescue you. So, I banged the door and banged, and banged, The donkey man was getting closer and closer and- I'm sorry but where the hell did that flipping donkey go?

I finally couldn't take it anymore and tried to doorknob which I thought was locked. Sure enough. The damned thing opened.

For the love of-

"Hayley!" I heard the Donkey Man's voice yell.

I skipped out on cursing at the door and decided to run into the house to find a good weapon. Now that I think about it, I could've killed him with a shard of glass while he was groaning on the ground.

'No you don't kill.'

I know conscience, it was just a thought.

I continued running until I hit the hall where everyone's rooms were. I heard Donkey Man running after me. Although he didn't know where I was because I ran too fast ahead of him. Hahaha, think 13:07 mile times and not 6 minute mile times.

My victory faded when I heard his footsteps get closer...and closer..and closer...

So, I started to panic and as I panicked I did the best thing I could. I ran into the nearest room. I closed the door and took deep breaths.

I heard footsteps go down the hall stopping at one door that sounded like it was a few doors down. Before I could listen to what he does through the door, I heard a door inside this room open. It revealed a shirtless Kai wrapped only in a towel with his hair cut and in its natural state.

We stared at each other before Kai spoke.

"Why, hello there beautiful lady...Can I help you?"

I stood there with my jaw open and I'm pretty sure it reached the ground. His body was freaking AMAZING.

"Lovely, are you done checking me out?" He asked. I looked up at his face and then to his hair which had gotten shorter.

"Did you cut your hair?" I asked him.

"Yeah. I also washed it. I lost a bet with Scarlet, that's why I even had that really stupid hairstyle."

I just stared at him, I couldn't help but check him out.

"Why don't I get dressed real quick?" He offered and I nodded.

He turned around to his drawers and got out pants and boxers. He walked into the bathroom and came back within thirty seconds. His pants hung low in a sagging fashion.

"Can you, uh..." I stuttered.

"Can I do what?" He asked me.

"Can you...Pull up your pants?"

He gave me an I'M-SO-DONE-WITH-YOU look.

"No."

"Pl-"

"No."

"Pretty pl-"

"No. Why are you here anyway?" He asked me to grab an envelope from his desk across the room.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you left to go with a...." He looked off into the distance as if searching for words,"Donkey man."

"Hey! That's what I call him. And speaking of Donkey Men...The reason I'm here is because I realized that I'm most likely much safer around you guys than around that weird, old donkey man and his squad of donkey men." I quickly rambled.

"Ok? What if we don't want you back?"

My eyes widened.

"What?"

"What if we don't want you back?"

I just stared at him in shock...How could he....I mean I know I said mean things but....I shut my eyes.

"I didn't mean any of what I said before." I blurted out," I really didn't, I was just desperate to get home and I wasn't sure if that was freedom that you would give me."

I opened my eyes to see Kai sitting on his bed listening to me with something in his hand. His eyes were an intense chocolate brown that I couldn't help but be attracted to. Especially with his new hair cut.

"What if I don't give you that freedom?" He asked me.

"Huh?"

"Going back home, what if I don't let you."

I was silent. He was right. What if he didn't let me go back home? My breath got caught in my throat and tears formed in my eyes at the thought of not being able to see my family and friends again. I looked at Kai.

"Then I'd hate you." I spat out.

He raised an eyebrow and cracked a smile.

"You came and ran all the way here to tell me negative things? Bad Hayley. You're not getting a treat tonight."

I realized that his smile meant he was kidding. I immediately cleared up and apologized. Geez, why do I take everything so seriously?

"I'm sorry. I did it again." I apologized.

He laughed again,"Jeez, Hayley, instead of going through all this drama, just tell me what you're here for."

"I'm here to come back until I get to go home. Kai, I want to stay with you." I told him.

He looked up at me with an unreadable expression that looked incredibly hot on him and jeez, Hayley calm your goddamned hormones!

He suddenly smiled widely,"And I got that sentence on tape."

He pressed a button on the device he was holding and replayed what just happened.

'Kai, I want to stay with you.' It repeated.

My eyes widened. He walked towards me and pressed me against the door even more.

"If you want to stay then don't leave unless you need to you, boso." He whispered in my ear and then threw me behind him.

"Go hide in the closet."

I looked at him," Why?"

He smirked,"I have a date with a really ugly donkey."

He then left the room and I realized that my heart had sped up way more when Kai was near me... We must be really good friends....
