Pari slowly glared at San as he refused to meet her eyes. Sweat dripped from his forehead as he gulped.  Pari took a small step back. Whack! she slapped the back of his head before grabbing the fake glasses from him.

"Pa...Pari Arin doesn't even work here" San whined massaging the back of his head

"Then who is the CEO?"

"Idk"

"Umm...the FUCKING idiot, what if someone recognizes me"

"Won't that be good? he'll cut you some slack"

"NO, first of all it's so embarrassing, and...and well"

"and?..come on Pari what are you hiding?"

"Last date he asked me if I liked him and I said that I was slowly growing on him but before I could finish..."

"Before you could finish?" San pried

" He suddenly asked me to marry next month..."

"NEXT MONTH?!"

"Yes, yes out of nowhere, an he didn't even seem genuine about it. I tried to politely stall the question, but he just wouldn't back down"

"So what did you say?"

"Well...the thing is, I shouted at him on absurd he was for taking marriage lightly, and you know me when I'm angry...hehe"

"Say it"

"I rejected him in front of the whole crowd, and told my parents to call off the engagement"

"Oh my god Pari" San rubbed his temples

"Listen it's not my fault, he kept forcing me to accept his proposal and wouldn't listen to me. It's no surprise I burst out, I hate being bossed around! Ugh..forget about that now"

"Ok fine, here take this mask, wear it with the glasses. Keep your head down and leave that pride of yours out the door. Understood?"

"San why don't we just go somewhere else?"

"NO! I had to beg that scary HR woman to let you in. If you mess it up, she'll never help me again"

"Fine, fine. Wish me luck I don't see the devil"

"Good luck babe" he lightly pushed her back towards the glass doors.

Bang!

Arin banged his fist on the table. How dare she humiliate him in front of everyone?! She should be rejoicing at the fact that he insisted on marrying her, but instead what does she do? Shout at him in front of everyone and reject him in the face. His father shook his head knowing his son very well.

"Looks like you failed, son" he laughed proudly

"Why are you laughing? You said you liked her"

"Well I did, but clearly she didn't like you, I'm surprised she lasted for so long, a new record. Mr. Tarin!"

"Yes sir?" A smart looking, handsome man, Arin's age but with kind drooping eyes shifted beside Arin

"Let's throw a party for the new record. What do you say?"

"Um...sir"

"Oh honey, stop annoying the poor kid, he's already frustrated" his wife tried to stop him

"I'm only congratulating my son" he put his hands up in mocking surrender "Good effort son, but...you lost!"

Arin growled as he massaged his eyes.

"Lost what?" his mother interjected

"Well, I promised Arin to stop sending him on blind dates, if he introduces me to a girl willing to marry him?"

"What's hard about that, my son doesn't lack anything"

"I thought so to, but your amazing son couldn't even do that. Arin get ready you are going to a date with Mr. Tareng's daughter of the Tareng corporation."

Silence followed.

"Give me one week"

"far what joy?"

"I will convince Pari"

"And if she doesn't?"

"I will do as you say, so cancel the blind date, its enough waste of my time"

"No, you bring the girl in 7 days, or you will go for the date this Sunday"

"Alright" Arin stormed out his parents' mansion closely followed by his secretary Mr. Tarin

They got in his car, and drove along the silent street. Tarin occasionally looked at the mirror to glance at his boss tensed. To the world outside, Arin was the nice guy, the kind approachable type who charmed his way into everyones' heart. But Tarin knew better, that there is more behind those glasses, hidden.

"What do you plan to do sir?"

"Find her"

"Pardon sir?"

"I need to get hold of her first"

"But sir don't you have her number? You even know where she lives and works"

"She won't let me meet her. Her parents keep insisting she's not at home, and I'm not even allowed to enter her office without an appointment approved by her. On top of all that she blocked me!" frustrated Arin threw his glasses across the feet rubbing his face harshly.

Amazed at the courage of the girl, Tarin slowly drew his breath as if walking on egg shells.

"So how are you going to talk to her sir?" Arin turned front, meeting Tarin eyes. Tarin wished he hadn't asked, his cold eyes were enough to make a man shit his pants. A small evil smile appeared as he send shivers down Tarin's spine...

"Well, we got to lure the prey out"

Tarin gulped. He respected him boss, but at times, I couldn't help but shiver when he sees this side of him.

"Mr. Arin if you don't mind me asking why her? Do you perhaps like her?"

Arin scoffed "Like her?"

"I mean, why did you choose her?" Arin leaned back in his leather car seat

"By chance, I saw her at Jordan's birthday party. Jordan introduced us, and we spoke for a while. She wasn't seeing anyone, so I decided on her"

"Just like that?" Tarin's interest piqued "As in, was there anything you liked about her?"

"Mr. Tarin as my secretary you know the best that I do not have time to ponder over what I like about a girl. My only aim is to quickly marry and get the old man off my back"

"Ah...yes. I understand" Tarin slightly sigh, he knew his boss was like this, but why was he so hell-bent on marrying only her.

"But Sir wouldn't it be a waste of time to chase after Ms. Pari now?"

"Yes it will. But now there is too much stake. I can't give up on her now"

"I didn't get you sir"

"You seem to be more focused on me than your driving at the moment" he glared

"No sir, nothing like that. I must confess it's a bit confusing though"

"Regardless, I never back down from a challenge, do I Mr. Tarin?"

"Never sir"

"And besides, she humiliated and rejected me in front of everyone, I must punish her, mustn't I?" Arin smirked before he leaned his head back and closed his eyes. Enough stress for one day.

Tarin quietly watched his boss he knew since childhood, worried of what the future holds for Ms. Pari.
