One message, One night is all it took for Pari to see through her fiancé's myriad of lies. He was a devil in an angel's body.
Arin was the nice guy, with a lean built, cute dimples, and puppy eyes behind his nerdy glasses. An Oxford graduate next-in...
The large archic gates opened leading to a small stoned pathway. On either side were lucious green plains, perfect for golf but they weren't meant for it. Taren slowly drove along the tall trees until he reached a fountain and in front of it was what is best described as a glass-palace.
Large french-style window and an elegant modern structure. It was simple, with few spacious rooms and a cozy living space, not to forget the enormous backyard, it was perfect. A perfect place to start a family.
Taren sighed at the thought. Arin had been building this ever since he proposed to Ms. Pari at the resturant. It was a failed proposal but he had already set his eyes on her. Perhaps he had already developed feelings for Ms. Pari by then, if only he had accepted it and been honest with her, maybe none of this would have happened.
Nearly 2 months had already passed since Ms. Pari met her untimely demise. The secret island couldn't be revealed, so she was only reported as missing. Her parents, family, colleagues and friends were all still devasted, but Arin had done a good job consoling and reassuring them.
It was a pitiful situation to watch, the man most broken putting up a smile and keeping their hopes up. Whenever Taren would ask about the motive behind such lies, Arin would simply reply 'it is what Pari would have wanted'. It was definitely better than showing them the corpse of their young daughter that had left the world too soon.
Taren knew Arin never did it to escape punishment, he had already gave himself the verdict- perpetual agony. Not a minute had passed, without Arin thinking about Pari. He did all her hobbies, read all her favourite books, he was trying to remember her ever second. Therapy had absolutely no effect, it was upto Arin to move on.
Tarin passed the large living space and walked down the long corridor, at the end he saw Omar standing guard outside the in-house library. His wounds had still not healed even after months.
"How's the bruise" Taren asked with concern
"It's alright" Omar spoke with guilt. Taren felt sorry for him, Arin had gone on a bloodlust for a week after Pari was gone, Omar was one of the first victims, though he was one of the luckier ones.
"Still in there?"
"Yea"
With a light pat, Taren entered the library, Arin wasn't at his study table. He knew better than calling Arin out first so he waited. After what felt like ours, a shelf moved and from behind it Arin came out. He was sweating like he just came from a workout but his fists was dripping with blood, some had even splattered across his white shirt and face.
"Oh Taren, what's up?" Arin asked casually before he looked down "Fuck, Pari's going to kill me when she sees this dirty shirt"
Taren was scared but more worried for his childhood buddy.
"Don't you think you should move on?"
"Move on?" Arin paused as he looked dead in the eye
"I mean, let that man go, he is as good as dead and Old Madam has been crying everyday begging to see you"
"See me? Why is the red room not comfortable for her?"
"Arin it's a dungeon, if this goes on, you'll have 3 bodies in no time"
"Better right? After what happened to my Pari, they should thank god they are still alive. Who the fuck would have thought that the kind Old Madam was running a secret brothel with those girls, who would have! I brought her and those girl to the island so they could have a better life but if they want to live a sinful life, I'll give it to them" he growled with much animosity
"I'm pretty sure they are praying to die Arin. Please stop, it's enough! Pari wouldn't have wanted this!"
Arin took long strides and within a second had Taren in a chokehold. "Don't fucking use her, it's their fault, they drove her up on the ledge, they did!" Arin didn't believe what he said, it was clear he was the only one to blame. As the realization it him again, the same way it kept eating him each time he remembered her tear-stained face.
Arin released Taren "Just leave, please" he pleaded. Taren dropped of the bag he had been holding, "here" and he left.
Arin stood in place a minute longer clutching the bag. He left the study, dismissing Omar and made his way across the hall to the master bedroom. As he entered he was greeted by a large picture of Pari and him taken during their engagement. She was smiling, bright and beautiful as Arin held her from behind, with a look of contentment.
"I'm back love" he announced as he turned to the small garden attached to his room

Note: This isn't the exact image I wanted. The garden starts right beside the bed and much neater.
A small mound rose at the center. It was completely cut off from the world, adorned with beautiful flowers, Arin would spend most of his time in this little space, reading aloud, talking seemingly to himself, sleeping beside looking up at the sky.
"My dear, my love" he would whisper again and again. As he lay beside her, he pulled out woman clothes from the bag Taren had dropped off. He brought it close to his nose as he closed his eyes and inhaled it, "I miss your scent" he said as a tear threatened to fall. But he wouldn't let it, because in his heart, in his mind Pari was still there, right beside him. He clutched the dress to his chest as he lay beside his bride dozing off into a slumber.
A small boat was lazily floated in the backwaters unaware of the long journey ahead of it. An old man loaded the last of the supplies.
"Ya ready child?" he called out. A young woman run towards the boat with a few coconuts and fruits the village head had given her.
"Yes!" she shouted energetically. She climbed into the boat and turned around. A small group had gathered on the beach waving to her, sad and happy. She waved back with much gratitude.
"You look happy" the old man laughed gently.
"Yes, I'm finally going back home" the girl beamed as she whispered to the satly winds that waltz around her ....
Hello guys! Im not dead dw, Im back. This chapter was long overdue but I thought a cliffhanger deserves a little time to settle. What fun if there's no time to theorize what would happen next.
I hope you liked this chapter, let me know your thoughts.
