Pari glanced over her shoulder, quietly watching Arin gulp down his drink.
"All right I got it" she hung up the phone and stood in front of Arin.
Arin looked up puzzled waiting for Pari to speak.
"It was you, wasn't it?" Pari asked as she held her breath, straining to strangle her outburst.
"What?"
"You were the person, the man who saved me two months ago!" Pari practically shouted unable to disgust the twist of events. She continued "You anonymously tipped the investigators to help prove my innocence in the fraud case, right?"
Arin looked away as he cautiously let out a long breath. He got up facing Pari.
"Arin why why didn't you tell me all these days?! If it wasn't for you I would have been blackmarked and could have even lost my job! Just why, why didn't you tell me"
Arin remained composed "If I did, what would you have done?"
"I...I"
Arin cut her off "You would feel obligated to like me out of gratitude"
"Arin" Pari voice came out soft
"Tell me, wouldn't you?"
"Yes"
"I didn't want that" It was Arin's turn to pour out all his words "I did it cause I cared, not just me no one even believed that you were capable of doing such horrendous things. I just did what I felt like. Pari I like you and I want you to like my back, genuinely"
Pari stood frozen as if enticed by his words enchanting her, "Arin I was wrong about you" She blurted out
"What?"
"Arin, I'm so sorry. I was wrong about you. I was completely wrong."
"Don't be sorry" Arin held her hands, slightly grazing his thumb across her skin
"Can we start over?"
"Pari?"
"Please, I don't want to regret loosing you because of my prejudices"
"Pari don't do this, don't force yourself"
Pari pleaded "Arin please lets give this a chance, a real chance" She moved closer, he could feel her breath fan against his cheeks as he looked done at her glistening eyes. A small smile crept up his face. Without warning, he wrapped his hands around her, bringing her closer.
"Yes, yes let's do that. " The young couple smiled at each other, embracing one another. From far, one would mistaken it for a fairytale, oblivious to the ugly truths simmering below.

"Goodnight" Pari turned around to Arin who held the car door open for her.
Arin smiled as he went in for a hug "Goodnight...love?"
Pari let out a small laugh "Yes yes you can call me that, I like it"
"Oof so close" Arin mockingly wiped his forehead with the back of his hand.
"Get home safely Arin" Pari got in her car and waved at him till he was out of sight.
Arin waited till her car left the hotel as he got in his.
"Home" he instructed the driver as he stared out the window. For an eerie minute, he sat in silence as a smirk appeared. He reached under his seat and pulled out a phone from beneath as his dialed in an unknown number.
"Sire" a deep, aged voice rumbled through the phone.
"Good job" Arin plainly replied
"My pleasure, Sire"
Arin nonchalantly threw the phone across the seat as a smug smile appeared as he thought to himself...
My dear Pari, who naïve of you.
