2 days had passed but Pari refused to give in. Arin resorted to childish tactics of spilling water on her, making her eat lunch with him and whatnot in a futile attempt to get the mask off. But Pari wasn't having any of it, she was prepared and determined. Her report was nearly done, she had to hold on for just a bit. As Pari was closing in on her victory, Arin got more impatient by the day.
"Sir?" Pari stood in front of Arin, hands clasped around an envelope.
"What?" Arin looked at her smiling brightly as he remember what he had planned for her today. Pari held in her irritation and placed the envelope on his desk. Arin glanced at it and continued reviewing his schedule gayly.
"My resignation sir" Arin suddenly stopped scrolling though his ipad and looked at her like she grew two horns.
"Resignation? You have barely been here for a month" His brows scrunched as he stood up towering her. Pari held her composure and calmly replied.
"Yes sir, regrettably something came up"
"umm something...care to tell me what it is?" Arin scowled annoyed at how this game seemed to come to an end even before it truly began.
"Personal reasons"
"So you won't tell me Pari?"
"I doubt I'm obliged to" Pari replied glaring at him. Arin abruptly walked over to her. Pari stood unfazed until...until he leaned in. She could feel his chest pressed against her back as he leaned in closer. He trapped her on both sides against the desk as his nose slightly grazed the nape of her bare neck. Pari's breath hitched, she couldn't move as she stood frozen, eyes fixated on the painting before her.
"You're not obliged to, but don't you think I deserve to know" Arin eerily whispered in a rich baritone. Pari didn't reply. Suddenly she felt his arm slowly slither across her waist, gently pressing her towards him.
"Is there something you want to tell me?" he hummed gently while drawing circles on the side of her waist. Eyes widened, muscle tensed as her voice plummeted to the pit of her stomach, everything began slowly seeping in her mind, this...this was workplace harassment!
Arin was caught off-guard while he was slowly breathing in her scent, Pari swiftly elbowed him and kicked him in the crouch. "You bastard, get off me you fucking pervert!" Pari screamed as she pushed him to the ground and took off. She run quickly as his grunts filled the corridor. The secretary shot up in surprise watching the girl sprinting across followed by Arin's faint curses before running towards her boss.
Pari quickly locked herself in the bathroom repeatedly patting her chest in a soothing manner. It was too much, the vulnerability and helplessness she felt at that moment clouded her mind. She couldn't believe it, how could he throw himself on a helpless intern he met barely two days ago?! She wouldn't let him go, she swore she would make him pay for what he did to her...and what he may have done to countless girls before her. She didn't want to think about the endless possibilities, her situation alone was enough to choke her chest with uneasiness.
She quietly left the bathroom, keeping her head low. She had to get out before anyone manages to drag her to me...that monster. She quickly hurried into the elevator and quickly jammed the buttons, the doors were about to close when suddenly a shoe stopped it. Pari froze. No. No not the elevator, she was trapped. She backed to the corner as the doors opened, agonizingly slow...
"Ms. Riona!" A bright voice chirped. Pari slowly looked up at the figure.
"Mr. Namer" Pari signed in relief.
"Where are you going? Is the ceo making you run errands again?"
"No, no I'm going home"
"Home? why is that?"
"I'm feeling a little lightheaded" Namer suddenly walked up to her and placed his arm on her forehead. The gentleness was a pleasant surprise, she felt comforted by his touch...unlike his.
"Doesn't seem like a fever, but you do look a little worn-out". Pari feebly laughed, no kidding, the last few days she was always the first one to arrive and the last to leave work thanks to Arin, not to forget the constant worry of getting caught. Pari nodded as Namer gave a sympathetic smile.
"Would you like me to drop you? Its lunch in 5 anyway" The elevator dinged as the doors opened to the basement"
"No, no thank you"
"You sure?"
"Yes" Pari turned as the doors turned taking Mr. Namer back into the office, the godforsaken office.
The basement was empty but oddly Pari felt safer, she quickly run outside as she clumsily called her driver. She sprinted across the streets making sure no one was following her before she spotted her car. Relieved, she instructed the driver to take her to your office, her actual office. Considering how things turned out, Pari's got a lot of work to do. Along with the report, now she got a pervert to teach a lesson.
She opened the window and let the cool air doze her wary eyes to sleep as the events replayed in her mind.
