The Graduation Party

Forth loosened his tie and rolled up the sleeves of his long-sleeved shirt to his elbows. He picked up his cell phone and opened his messaging app and his social media was full of congratulations from his friends and relatives. None of the Beam.

He ignored all that and opened the message from Phana.

[Beam congratulated you and asked me to remind you for tonight's event. He is accompanying Doctor Gun in surgery now.]

Forth sighed and turned off the phone. The graduation ceremony was over and his parents had returned to the hotel to rest. His three brothers would come to their hotel later that afternoon and then join him at the party Beam had planned.

Forth had only met Beam yesterday when he came home exhausted after two long shifts. They eat breakfast together, then Beam sleeps until noon and Forth has to go to campus for a rehearsal for the graduation ceremony.

By the time Forth returned to their apartment in the afternoon, Beam was back in the hospital for another long shift.

They only had time to kiss in the morning after breakfast and Forth couldn't bear to see Beam trying so hard to keep his eyes open after that. Forth hugged and stroked Beam's hair until he heard a soft snoring sound from his lover, before he himself decided to take a shower and go to college. Really, Forth very miss Beam.

Forth packed his things and showered, then decided to make coffee while stretching his legs on the balcony. He still had two hours before he headed to the hotel to join his parents and three older siblings. Forth turned on the phone and saw a message in the Jamorhnoom brothers group.

[Hey, Forth, don't forget to wear the suit Beam ordered for you later.] -- Grant

[What about the ring, Phi? Can it be ready now?] -- Forth replied.

[I'll pick it up on my way to the hotel, in a bit.] -- Grant

[Phi Argan will pick you up in an hour, Forth, be prepared.] -- Torn

[One more hour? The party starts at 7, Phi, why the rush? Lam told me before.] -- Forth

[Shut up and just obey. You're going to propose to Beam, at the party he threw for you. You have to look decent so that he won't hesitate to accept your proposal.] -- Torn

[Don't embarrass Jamorhnoom, Wolfie.] -- Wine

Forth sighed and placed his phone on the table. He finished the coffee in the cup and went back to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

He asks his three brothers to help prepare a proposal for Beam tonight at the party and the three of them make everything explode in a frenzy as if he is going to marry Beam right away.

His mother even ordered a three-tiered kurle tart for tonight's party, straight from a famous cake maker.

She insisted they had to make Beam feel special and wouldn't turn down Forth's proposal. They could see the fear in Forth's eyes because he weren't sure Beam would accept his proposal.

Less than an hour later, Argan - Torn's private chauffeur, was standing at the door of the Forth apartment. He would take Forth to the salon to get his hair done, then take him to the hotel.

Forth felt his tension increase in intensity. When Forth got to the hotel, it was only his parents.

Leah kissed Forth with tears in her eyes.

"Hey, Mom, why are you crying?" Forth kissed his mother's forehead. "I'm only going to propose to Beam, not going far from you."

"My baby boy will be taking the biggest step in the next few hours. It's so moving," sobbed Leah. "You'd make a great partner for Beam. You guys deserve each other. I'm proud of you, Baby."

Gary rubbed his wife's back and patted Forth on the shoulder proudly. "You are very handsome, son. However, Beam is very charming. Don't do anything stupid that can make you lose him, for whatever reason, Forth. Luck will always be with your life when you are together and suffering when you are apart. You and Beam have been through this. That, so stay together and take care of each other in the future."

"I will, Dad. We will." Forth smiled and nodded. "Shall we go now? It's not even 5 o'clock yet, Mom."

"Phana said we need to get ready on the spot because Beam asked Mom and Dad to do something for him," Leah replied.

"Aren't we waiting for the twins and Phi Torn? I need to see the ring Phi Grant ordered."

"They're on their way straight to the party."

"Huh? Even I don't know where Beam threw the party. He didn't want to tell me, but got everyone to help him make the party."

"Of course he wouldn't tell you," Gary said with a laugh. "Here's a surprise party for you, idiot."

Forth was sullen but his face was beaming. He didn't really care what kind of party Beam had. He just wanted to meet his lover and hug him tightly.

The car carrying Forth and his parents stopped in front of a large and luxurious hotel.

"Mom, isn't this the hotel that Phi Torn and Phi Gain just finished building?"

"Hm. They asked Beam to have a party here, as an opening and also the beginning of the promotion of this hotel."

Leah and Gary stood on either side of the Forth and led him into the grand hotel together. Forth's brow furrowed at the flower arrangements and decorative balloons all over the lobby.

Forth saw Phana and Wayo, Max and Tul, approaching them. They hugged both Forth's parents. Phana and Wayo immediately took Leah and Gary, while Max and Tul grabbed Forth's arms.

"Hey, I thought the party wasn't going to be as big and formal as this," Forth said. "Where's Beam?"

"Inside. You'll see him in a minute. Now, come with us and don't make a fuss," Max said, lightly smacking Forth's arm.

Forth walked flanked by Max and Tul into a large room that appeared to be a hall at the back of the hotel, which directly connected to a large and beautiful garden and a large swimming pool.

Forth stood in the doorway of the hall with wide eyes. He blinked after a moment and then his eyes filled with tears. At the end of the red rug that started from the doorway where Forth was standing, Beam stood tall with a smile. He look beaming with happiness sparkling in his eyes.
