"So, tell me, Gary, what will be your next plan?" Leaf asked in the middle of the night as she glanced at the man behind her. She was brushing her hair for the night before going to bed. She looked out the window with a slight frown and longing.
It had been a year since Leaf and Gary left the mansion after it was bombarded and a few months since they entered the capital city to defeat the current royal family who was leeching off the power the crown brings. They were surprised that Gary, the only prince left by the former king and queen, had broken the curse. That process was quite easy, considering the nation had many problems.
"Leaf, it will be over soon, okay?" Gary said as he walked over to Leaf and hugged her from behind. He placed his chin on top of her head and played with her long hair.
Leaf stopped what she was doing and looked into Gary's eyes in the mirror in front of her. She frowned a bit at his comment. "You better finish it off soon, or I will just leave you."
"Honey, don't leave me, ahh," Gary cried as he held Leaf tighter.
"Let go of me and go to bed! You better finish this soon!" Leaf said and pushed Gary away.
Gary chuckled before he walked to the bed to wait for his lover. They had been through a lot together, so it was understandable that they were together, especially after what happened the first time. Since Leaf went back to him when he let her go, it was natural that he cannot let such a girl go.
Leaf can feel Gary's intense look at the back of her head as she sighed. Why did she even agree to be with him in the first place? She knew that Gary was different from other people. Instead of fearing her mutations, he found them enduring and quite cute.
"No one will take his girl," was Gary's exact words. But that didn't mean that she couldn't run away from him.
While Leaf was mindlessly getting ready for the night, Gary walked over again.
"You have brushed long enough. It is time for my medicine," Gary whispered into her sensitive ears.
Leaf turned around and smacked Gary on his head with a glare. "I told you not to do that!" she growled.
"Well, I need my medicine," Gary smirked as he held Leaf's face and leaned forward.
Leaf groaned in frustration, but she didn't stop him. Instead, she just closed her eyes and melted into his arms.
After the day when the hunters entered the mansion, Leaf and Gary found out the cure to Gary's curse. It was a kiss. Of course, that didn't break the curse. It just relieves it a bit. Everything would be fine if it was just a kiss, but Gary eventually found out that it had to be Leaf's. It had to be a kiss of true love. He didn't believe in all that true love crap, but he did know that he liked kissing Leaf. It made him feel complete and calm.
Gary knew that Leaf cares about him, so every night, he would use that as an excuse to steal kisses from her. It was childish for him to do so. But who lets her kisses be so addicting?
After a while of the intense makeout session, the two break apart. Leaf was flushed and out of breath. She glared at Gary again and put down her brush.
"Go to bed! Go to bed! Get out of my sight!" she exclaimed.
"Don't be so moody. Let's go to bed," Gary smiled as he picked her up in his arm in a bridal style and walked toward the bed. Gently, he placed Leaf down and he walked to his side of the bed to sleep.
Leaf huffed and turned around. She got under the covers and turned around. Gary just chuckled as he also went to bed and held the woman in his arms. The warmth from her body reminds him of his purposes and the meaning of his life.
"I better hurry up and put him to the throne," Gary thought. "That way, I can start my vacation with Leaf earlier."
As to what Gary promised Leaf, he quickly dealt with the family who had taken over the throne and set his cousin as the new king. His excuse was that he was cursed and never was educated on becoming a ruler. Before his cousin can do anything, he and Leaf left the capital and disappeared into the forest.
In a hidden place in the forest, Gary and Leaf lived their normal lives. Every day was the same but also full of adventure. They settled down after they came across the magical place that they considered home. It took time for them to rebuild their cottage and get their life going again, but with the help of their friends, things seemed to be easier and simpler.
Leaf was sitting at the cottage, writing in a book, as she waited for Gary to return. She was documenting her research about the curse to continue on the knowledge that was previously written there. Of course, she only left clues instead of telling the clear answer. Occasionally, she would look at the magic mirror on the dresser table with a glowing red rose snipped from the mansion as a souvenir.
The door to the cottage opened as Gary entered with a sack on his bag. He placed the sack down and closed the door before he rushed over to Leaf. He kissed her on her cheeks and hugged her.
"Still working?" Gary asked.
"Yea. I am almost done," Leaf whispered.
"Don't work yourself too hard," Gary commented and walked back to get the sack. He brought it to the kitchen, where he prepared dinner. "I will take you to May and Dawn for the week tomorrow. I will need to go to the capital since the king will be needing me."
Leaf looked up from her paper. "What is it?" she asked.
"Remember how you said you were trying to find clues about your mother? Well, it seemed that they found something. I will be checking it out," Gary said. "Don't worry about it. I know how much it means to you."
Leaf sighed and nodded her head. "Whatever you say."
On the paper, she quickly wrote her last few sentences before she closed them off and went to hide them somewhere in the cottage. It will be for the future if anyone will ever be needing it.
