Waking up the next morning for school was hell. I didn’t want to go. It was raining and I didn’t feel like driving, I had absolutely no motivation to do any school work today, and I did NOT want to see Harry. Hell, I didn’t even wanna see Micah. I’m pretty sure that isn’t healthy so early in a relationship.
I took a quick shower, got dressed and ran downstairs. My parents were still asleep which means my Mom didn’t get up to make breakfast. Me being too lazy, I ran over to the cabinet and got out a pop tart and popped it in my school bag. I started heading out the door when I realized one thing…I forgot my Dylan.
Where is he? He is usually raiding my fridge before I even get up to get ready for school. Come to think of it I hadn’t heard from him since Saturday, and that is a very long time for us. Is he mad at me? No, I should be the one mad at him for giving Louis my phone number! But that doesn’t mean I don’t want him talking to me. He is my other half; I can’t just NOT talk to him. I’m probably overreacting. He most likely just didn’t want to walk to my house in the rain.
I sent him a quick text letting him know I was picking him up before running outside to my car; using my book bag as an umbrella. I shrugged off my jacket when I got in the car and started the ignition. I took the usual back route to Dylan’s house and got there in about five minutes. I pulled my jacket back on before running out of my car and once again shielding myself from the now pouring down rain with my backpack.
I pounded my fist on the door and it was opened pretty quickly. I ran inside and threw my backpack in the floor next to the front door. I turned to realize the person that let me in was Mr. Frog…who looked extremely sad.
“Morning Edgar. Um…is Dylan ready for school?” I asked.
He sighed before turning to walk towards the living room. “Follow me.” He mumbled as he disappeared through the living room door.
I did as I was told and sat next to him on the couch. “Is everything okay?” I whispered.
“There’s something I think you should probably see.” He turned away from me and switched on the T.V. It was on channel 3 news.
“I don’t understand…” I went silent as soon as a familiar face popped up on the television screen. It was Felicity.
“18 year old Felicity Greene was found dead at approximately one this morning. Police are saying that the time of death took place around some point at Saturday night. The body was found dismembered and sexually mutilated in the woods. The strangest thing though is that the victim was completely drained of blood, and police are saying that the body seemed like it was on a display. Like the suspect wanted the victim to be found…”
“I…I can’t…” I stood up from the couch and ran out into the hallway. I leaned up against the wall and took in a deep breath. I had said all these horrible things about her…and now she’s dead. All those things just seem so petty now…
“Samantha?” Edgar was now in the hallway with me and he was rubbing my shoulder to comfort me. I took in one more deep breath before stepping away from the wall and looking him in the eyes.
“She…she went to school with us.” I mumbled.
“Yeah. Dylan is pretty upset. Were you two friends of hers?” He asked.
No Edgar. I was a bitch that talked shit about her behind her back. I wish I would’ve know…I would have done things so differently. “She was nice to Dylan.” I whispered. Dylan had always had a crush on Felicity. For as long as I could remember. I mean, the boy would put hearts around her pictures in the yearbook. He was too chicken shit to ever talk to her though. He must be really hurting. “Can I go check on him?” I asked.
