I couldn’t believe my eyes? Am I dreaming? I have to be, things like this don’t happen in real life. Are my parents…holding hands? And kissing? What is this sorcery? This was so foreign. At first I just thought it was some show to put on for our “Guest” AKA Harry. But…they’re actually kissing, and touching, and talking? What happened to them fighting, and them not looking each other in the eyes? It was a miracle.
My mom had just walked in with the glass tray of lasagna and placed it on the table. Harry just had to sit next to me. He would nudge my elbow every now and then or rub his leg against mine underneath the table. It was driving me crazy and he knew it. Hell, he loved it. He was just trying to get a rise out of me to see if I would blow up in front of my parents. I know he was! Well, I wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction…
“This looks great Ms.Gilbert.” Harry grinned.
I rolled my eyes when my Mom began to gush. “Well thank you. Dylan is usually the only friend Sam brings home. It’s nice to have a new house guest for once. Sammy where is Dylan? This is the first time he’s missed a meal in this house in…well…ever.”
I shrugged and put a portion of lasagna on my plate. “His Dad has been wanting him to stay home because of all the disappearances.”
“Well that’s understandable.” My Dad nodded.
My Mom sat at the chair next to my Dad and smiled at him as he placed his hand in hers. Something was going on. This was just too weird. “Are you guys okay?” I asked.
They both looked at me questioningly. “What do you mean?” My Dad asked.
I looked over at Harry who was suddenly extremely interested in his food before turning back to my parents hesitantly. “You guys just seem…different. I mean after last night…”
My Mom waved her hand in the air carelessly and rolled her eyes. “Last night was just us being silly. Don’t worry about it. It’s definitely not going to happen again.” She turned back to my Dad and kissed him on the cheek. I just stared wide eyed at the two.
“Would you like us to stop?” My Dad laughed.
I shook my head quickly and laughed. No! No…please don’t.” I smiled.
I looked back down at my plate and realized exactly how hungry I was. I hadn’t eaten since lunch and all I had was half a tuna sandwich. I ate a big fork full of lasagna and then jumped when I felt something on my thigh. My knee hit the table and I scared my Mom so bad she almost knocked over her drink. Harry Had his whole hand on the inside of my thigh. This guy was really doing this with my parents at the table? What a gentleman.
“Samantha? Are you Okay?” My Dad asked with his eyebrows raised.
“Yeah…I just…I um…” I looked over at Harry and I practically saw red when he just looked at me with an innocent face. “I just…burned my tongue. I’m fine.”
My mother looked at me with concern and then I felt Harry’s hand on my shoulder. “You should be more careful Sammy.”
I looked at him with a fake smile. “I’ll keep that in mind.” I’m gonna murder this boy.
Moments later Harry’s hand was back on my thigh but I restrained myself not to jump. I felt the goosebumps rise on my arms as his hand went higher and higher before finally reaching the seam of my jeans. I’m not gonna lie, the fact that he could do this while my parents were at the table with a straight face, and he was eating his food, left me very impressed.
I grabbed his hand and moved it off my leg but not before he intertwined our fingers and held them under the table. And when he did this… something happened in the pit of my stomach that I never felt before. It was the same feeling I felt in my dream. Was it butterflies? No… definitely not…I don’t get butterflies. Especially for Harry Styles. Ugh!
