I sat on the floor of the shower, letting the hot water sting my back. It was boiling but for some reason I barely felt it, I was completely numb. Maybe it had something to do with the fact Zayn had force fed me his blood in the car, or maybe I just finally snapped.
My wounds were now nothing but small bruises and cuts, my arm and leg still ached but the bones were no longer shattered in pieces. It really was amazing what vampire blood could do. They could do so much good for the world, they could probably cure every illness imaginable…but of course, people would outweigh the good with the bad…
I stood up slowly and turned off the faucet. I grabbed the towel I had folded up on the toilet and wrapped it around my body. I took the other towel and shook off my hair before looking in the mirror.
My face was still badly bruised and my lip was swollen. My arms and chest were black and blue, as were my legs. I sighed before sitting on the edge of the bathtub. I put my head in my hands and began to sob.
I had absolutely no chance of survival…
I heard a knock at the door and my head snapped up and I wiped the tears from my swollen face. I tightened my towel around me before standing up. “Yes?” I said, my voice shaky.
“It’s me.” Harry’s voice echoed. “Can I come in?”
“Yes.” I said sitting back down on the edge of the tub.
He opened the door slowly and let himself in, shutting it behind him. He didn’t leave with me from the hospital; mainly because he couldn’t move. Me, Edgar, Dylan, Zayn and Niall went to Edgar’s house, and Liam and Lou stayed with Harry. He was already healed, and wearing a fresh change of clothes.
“You clean up nice.” I said looking down. “How did…”
“I did what I had to do…” He said, not looking me in the face.
My stomach churned at the thought. “Did you…did you kill…”
He shook his head immediately and sat next to me on the tub. “I drained one of the dead nurses at the hospital.”
“Oh…” I said emotionlessly. I was just so exhausted…
“Are you…okay?” He asked. I just shook my head and looked down at my hands. He grabbed one of my hands with his and squeezed. “Talk to me…please…” He begged.
I felt the tears silently fall down my face and then I looked back at him. “When I would hit him…to fight back…I felt like my arms were going to shatter it hurt so much.” I whimpered. “What is he?”
Harry licked his lip and furrowed his brow. “I don’t know. He’s like us…but…”
I shook my head. “No.”
He raised his eyebrows and tilted his head. “What do you mean?”
“He’s nothing like you.” I croaked. “He’s pure evil. He was put here on this Earth to cause pain. You’re not like that. You could never be like that…”
“I’m not any better.” He mumbled. “Everything that’s happened to you is because of me…”
I looked back at him and brushed his hair out of his face. “I don’t blame you.”
“I blame me.” He growled. “I should have stayed away from you from the beginning, none of this would have happened.”
“Yeah, well you didn’t. There’s no use whining about it now.” I snapped.
He chuckled and looked down at his hands. “I really can’t say a word without you getting mad at me can I?”
I sighed deeply before getting up from the edge of the bathtub and standing by the sink. “I am not mad! I’m exhausted…I haven’t slept in…I don’t even know how long, and if you haven’t noticed, I just got tortured by some fucking demonic vampire thing. So I’m sorry if I’m a little grouchy at the moment.”
