Harry and I had been sitting on the steps in silence for at least an hour. I didn’t know what to say to him, I didn’t even know what to think. If I thought things were insane before, they were fucking ridiculous now…
This was just too much.
I stood up and began to pace in front of him. “So what you’re saying is: the reason you bit me is because I was wearing your Sister’s ring that died over a hundred years ago? Your sister that was murdered by some demon? The same demon that killed your Mom? And the reason I know this already is because I dreamed it? And I dreamed it, because we’re soul mates? That’s what you’re basically telling me right now…”
He stood up and nodded. “Pretty much.”
“That’s fucking crazy!” I scoffed.
“Look, I don’t believe it either okay, but the whole dream thing is suspicious. And I can’t hear or compel you. And…”
“And what?”
He bit his lip and furrowed his brow. “And…For the past hundred years, every night I’ve had the same dream…about my Mum and Gem…until I met you.”
I stared at him in shock. “Harry…we can’t be…’life mates’. We’re nothing alike. We don’t get along…”
“Oh believe me, I know we’re not. I’m just saying…that’s the only theory we have for the moment. And whether you like it or not, you and I are linked somehow.”
“Do you think…?” I trailed off looking at the ground, something suddenly beginning to click.
“What?”
“Harry…what if the thing that killed your family…is the same thing that’s after me now…”
Harry looked at me blankly. I heard him gulp and then his eyes widened a bit. “I honestly didn’t think about it until you said it.”
“And maybe that’s why we’re connected.”
“Maybe.” He nodded.
“Or maybe it’s because you guys are life mates.” A voice behind me said. Harry and I both turned to see Liam standing on the porch, his arms crossed. “You guys are both ridiculously stubborn.” He laughed.
“Liam…can you not with this bullshit.” Harry said.
“Why does it have to be bullshit? Are you really that scared of feeling something Harry?” Liam said raising an eyebrow.
“Nope. I’m feeling something right now; it’s called being pissed off.” Harry growled.
“So did you tell her everything, or just the compulsion and reading part?” Liam asked.
I looked in-between the two and raised an eyebrow. “What?” I asked.
“Nothing Sam.” Harry said.
“Keep making excuses Haz, you’ll accept it soon enough.” Liam smiled.
“Mind to tell me what the hell you two are talking about?” I snapped.
The two stared at each other, Harry’s face full of frustration, and Liam’s almost in amusement. It’s like they were silently communicating with each other before Liam looked back at me. “It’s nothing Samantha. You should get inside and grab a plate though; your breakfast is getting cold…”

After breakfast, which was surprisingly good, I was back up in Harry’s room, playing with my phone. I had about forty missed calls from Micah and Dylan, and a voice mail from my Dad. My Dad just basically said he’d be at the Motel for a few more days and asked if I was okay, and that was it. No ‘I Love You’ not even a ‘Bye’. Just a ten second voice mail updating me on his whereabouts.
