I could already see the blisters forming on my skin as I stepped into the church. My blood was boiling beneath my skin and I was beginning to feel the heat behind my eyes. I stepped in and was face to face with Micah. He smirked at me as I stood in front of him. My skin sizzling and blisters continuing to form on my body. I felt the anger rise in me as I stared at his face. I grabbed him by his throat and tossed him aside. He slammed through the wall of the church but stood up quickly before grabbing me into a headlock.
"Hurry up Harold, you and your true love are running out of time." I pushed him off of me and snapped his neck. His body fell lifelessly to the ground. I knew I didn’t have much time before he woke up, and I could feel my skin melting by the second. I rushed over to the center of the church where the floorboards were ripped up and the dirt was filled in. I knelt down and dug as fast as my vampire speed would allow me. I could feel myself getting weaker and weaker.
I was dying…
I finally got to the wooden box and ripped the top off. Samantha was unconscious but she was still alive, I could hear the faint sound of her heart beat. I grabbed her and threw her over my shoulder before running out of the church as fast as I could. As soon as we were outside we both fell to the ground. I couldn’t walk anymore, I couldn’t move…
I could feel my skin melting away from my body, and I knew that this was the end for me. I looked over at Sam, her eyes opening slowly and meeting mine for one last time…
Samantha’s P.O.V.
I woke up and all I could smell was smoke. I looked over and saw a charred body laying on the ground next to me. I looked into the person’s eyes and saw nothing but green. I looked up at the church and I realized what happened. I sat up quickly and scooted over to Harry. He was still on fire when I threw myself on him, trying my best to put him out. I didn’t even feel the fire burning my hands as I managed to put him out by myself. I rolled him over on his back and gasped at the sight of him.
If I thought his burns before were bad, I had another thing coming. His skin was completely black, his whole body charred. Blisters and pus covered his skins, his hair was gone and he was unconscious. I thought he was dead before I heard a slight groan.
"Harry!" He couldn’t move or talk, he just groaned once again. I knew what I had to do, I had given him my blood once before and this was no different. I put my wrist to his mouth. "Harry drink!" I yelled. He didn’t respond.
I looked around for something sharp, anything that I could use. I found a sharp piece of wood and cut my wrist with it. I held it against his mouth and the blood just simply dripped onto his lips, he didn’t do anything. I could feel the tears streaming down my face as I watched my lover lay unresponsive.
"Please don’t leave me." I cried. He didn’t move, and he didn’t lick the blood from his lips, and he stopped making the groaning noises. I began to sob when I realized that I had lost him for good. I collapsed onto his chest as I cried. It was gonna take a lot more than a few drops of blood to save him this time, and there was nothing I could do…
I reached up and looked at his face. His unrecognizable face…I sniffled before pressing my lips to his charred ones. I jumped when I felt him move. His arms grabbed my shoulders roughly and threw me on my back, knocking the wind out of me. He roared at me and I screamed as I looked up at him. He was terrifying…his face nearly as black as his eyes, and his sharp white fangs protruding from his mouth. He roughly pushed my neck to the side and bit into the skin.
I kicked and screamed as he began to drain me of my blood. I tried hitting him, pushing, him off, but it didn’t work. He continued drinking from me even as I began to lose consciousness…
