"I've slept over here like 600 times, and I've never seen this door opened once.", said Pope.

"Mm.", Kie and I moaned in agreement.

John B brought down a pinboard of sorts and showed us what was on it.

"Here, look. This is the original owner right here.", he said as he pointed at a bearded man from the late 1800s.

"Okay, Robert Q. Routledge, 1880 to 1920. There's the lucky compass, right there.", said Kie as she pointed to the compass.

"Actually, um...he was shot after he bought it.", awkwardly explained John B.

"Damn, poor guy.", I stated sadly.

"Then the compass was shipped back to Henry. Henry was killed in a crop-dusting accident when he had the compass. After he died, the compass was given to Stephen--"

"Kinda sounds like an unlucky compass.", I stated abruptly.

"...Stephen had the compass with him when he died in Vietnam.", continued John B.

"Let me guess, he died in action, right?", asked JJ.

"Sort of," explained said John B, "Uh, actually, he was killed by a banana truck. In- in country. Anyways, after that, Stephen passed the compass down to him, my dad.", he said as he pointed to a bearded man with glasses in the photo.

'Why does he look familiar?', I thought to myself.

"Hm, sounds like there's a reoccurring theme here.", said JJ, sounding deep in thought.

"Mhm, death.", I finished for him.

"Yeah, you have a death compass.", stated Pope.

"I do not.", clearly stated John B.

"You have a death compass.", repeated Pope.

"Get rid of it. It's cursed and made its way back to you.", warned JJ.

"Look, my dad used to talk about this compartment here. Soldiers used to hude secret notes.", stated John B as he opened the compartment.

"What's that?", asked Kie, pointing to something.

"That wasn't there before-- it's my dad's handwriting.", said John B in a shocked tone.

"How can you know that?", asked Pope, surprised.

"Because he does these weird Rs with the-- See it?", John B said as he showed the compass to Pope.

"Can I see it? Red-- Rout-- No, I think that's an A.", said JJ as he showed me the compass. I shrugged at the incomprehensible writing.

"It says Redfield.", obviously states Kie.

"Right.", JJ said in a 'duh, obviously' tone.

"Okay, well, what's Redfield?", asked Kie.

"Besides the most common name in the county?", asked Pope in a sarcastic tone.

"Redfield... Redfield...hmmm...", I murmured to myself.

"Maybe it's a clue. Maybe it's a clue to where he's hiding.", said John B, determinedly.

"Okay...", awkwardly stated JJ.

"A clue? Come on, that's...", asked Pope, unbelievably.

The rooster outside crowed as Pope cleared his throat.

"But if it's a clue, maybe it's an anagram?", he asked again, slightly hopeful.

"Yes. Perfect. Anagram. You need paper.", stated John B, cheerfully.
