JJ Pov

After we took everyone to their houses, I drove (Y/n) to the emergency room to get her ear checked out by a doctor.

I know she doesn't want to see one because of how stubborn she is but, she's my girl. I...care about her a lot. Her health, her beauty, her mind, her body, her feelings, I care about all of that.

"JJ, I'm fine. It's just-", she started.

"No, you're not fine, babe. Your ear is bleeding and you can't hear from the same ear. You're gonna get checked out. Please, babe. The damage could be temporary o-or permanent. We don't know but the doctor does.", I argued stubbornly as I opened the door of the car for her.

"Fine. We're getting answers and we're leaving.", she answered reluctantly.

"That's my girl.", I cooed as I held her hand.

We walked up to the receptionist, who looked at us in curiosity while (Y/n) covered her ear.

"Name and reason?", the receptionist asked bluntly.

"(Y/n)...Thornton and well...reason is kinda...", she paused as she revealed her bleeding ear, "bloody?", she laughed nervously.

"The doctor will see you right away. Take some gauzes with you to cover your ear.", the receptionist conveyed.

Nodding, we followed a nurse to a room where the doctor was.

(A/n: fun fact: I'm a huge Greys Anatomy fan so I'll bring some Dead/doctors that left, into this scene to heal my heart:))

"Hi, I'm Doctor Kepner and I'll be taking care of you tonight. What seems to be the problem, guys?", she asked professionally.

"Well, uh...we went to a shooting range and little miss smarty pants thought it was a good idea to shoot a pistol without some safety headphones. Now she can't hear and...", I hesitated.

"I can hear perfectly fine with my right ear, babe. Can you please find out what is wrong with me? I'm tired and I have a bad headache, sorry.", she muttered.

"Alright, I'll check you out.", Doctor Kepner said as she brought out her stethoscope.

She sighed in disappointment and disbelief.

"Well, bad news is that your eardrum is damaged badly. Good news is that it'll heal in two months.", she chirped.

Two months?!

"Don't scare these kids, April. Hey, I'm Doctor Jackson Avery, head of plastic surgery here at this hospital. Do you mind if I look at the damage, kid?", the attractive, young, male doctor asked her.

Holy shit, did this guy come out of a photo shoot or something?!

Nodding with approval, (Y/n) let Dr. Avery check the damage in her ear.

"April is right, the damage is pretty bad. But not bad enough to the point where we can't fix it. I can make your eardrum look good as new, pro bono.", doctor Avery concluded.

"Oh my god, for real?! Yes, please! Thank you, Doctor Avery!", (Y/n) giggled happily.

"No problem. The only thing that can go wrong during this surgery is that you lose your hearing forever. Other than that, there's no other risks.", he finished.
