Chapter eleven

CHAPTER ELEVEN: questions

NICKLAUS SWAN DIDN'T ANSWER IMMEDIATELY, NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF QUESTIONS TO ASK. As this was still difficult to understand. Plus, he was worried about what would happen if his father walked in.

"So, you drink blood," Klaus said, unsure of how to phrase this question. He didn't want them to know why he was questioning this.

"We drink animal blood, not human," Alice responded.

"Do you know of any vampires that do drink human blood?"

"We do not interact with them," Alice replied.

"So, how does this work? A blood singer? You had said that, unlike Edward with Bella, that I calm you."

"That is correct,"

"So, no offense," Niklaus turned to Jasper. "is that why you always look..." Klaus trailed off, instead gesturing to Jasper.

"Like I'm in pain?" Jasper finished the question.

Klaus nervously chuckled. "So, you heard that? To be fair, Jessica said that, although I did think that it was a rude thing to say."

Niklaus continued to try and think of his next question, but it was tough to guess which was more critical to ask. He was trying to rule out all the dumb questions.  Or the questions that they had already answered. So, when he opened his mouth to speak again, he was unsure of which question he would ask. "If you could, would you change the fact that you had been transformed into a vampire?"

Both were quiet for a moment.

"Sorry," Klaus apologized, "um...actually, would the blood singer thing have anything to do with this?" Klaus turned his back, searching for one of his sketchbooks before pausing. If the blood singer wasn't why he had continued to draw them, he didn't want to show them the drawings.

Nicklaus deposited of the sketchbook onto his bed, both Alice and Jasper sat on the mattress.

"We will be playing baseball tomorrow," Alice announced, smiling up Niklaus. "Would you like to join?"

"Yeah, sure," Klaus replied with a second thought.

"This could be with the..."Alice paused, once again looking up at smiling at Klaus. "There are many things to explain to you, Klaus."

"I've got time," the brunette quickly replied.

For the rest of the night, the three either spoke of random topics, types of things that interested them, they talked of parts of Alice and Jasper's past, when they were human.
Jasper left out any part he believed that Klaus would look at him as the monster he was.

Nicklaus fell asleep at four in the morning.
Alice and Jasper stayed, even when he had fallen asleep.
