Zero and Axl were rushing through the top part of the canyon. Axl slid down the canyon, causing a small rock slide. This irritated Zero who begrudgingly joined him, knowing it's the only fast way down.
Zero: Axl, don't try that again.
Axl: Why's that?
Zero: You can cause a rock slide.
Axl:Big deal: these places have been cleared of rocks, we don't need to-
Before he could finish that sentence, a loud boom of the sound barrier came down on them, and in front of them was Sage Harpuia.
Zero: So that would explain why I didn't see any enemies coming in front of us.
Sage Harpuia: Zero.. What is your purpose here?
Zero: I was gonna ask the same.
Sage Harpuia: We're here to terminate the Maverick in this canyon. But it seems like you're off to do our task.
Axl: Well, might as well let the professionals deal with it.
Sage Harpuia: You hunters are as professional as 6 year olds trying to run a daycare. So run along back to Area Z and tend to your own, if you can.
Zero pulled out his saber.
Zero: Sorry, but considering you were assisting a Maverick, you're gonna have to come with us.
Sage Harpuia got angry and pulled out both of his pink sabers.
Sage Harpuia: You dare call Master X a Maverick?!
Sage Harpuia blasted off and rammed into Zero, shoving him through a canyon wall. Axl was about to get involved, but he felt his hand was grabbed, then he was shoved onto the ground. Hidden Phantom came out of his cloaking and stared him down. Phantom picked up Axl and threw him like he weighed nothing. Axl pulled out his pistols and pointed where Phantom was: but instead there was nothing. Phantom appeared, albeit there were 3 clones of him. Axl shot all three of them, but was shocked as neither of them was the real Phantom. Axl looked up and saw Phantom throwing dozens of shurikens. Axl dodged through the attacks, trying not to get hit for he remembered when metal from Phantom hits a target: it vibrated to the point of detonation. While Axl was struggling with his fight with Phantom, Zero was shocked at Harpuias speed. Zero clashed blades with him, pushing him back; He knew he was stronger, but with a quick movement up, Harpuia broke the blade lock. There he was in the sky, he pulled his blades in a X shape and it was crackling with electricity and power. The sky went dark for a moment and yellow lightning came down. It targeted Zero and he ran away from the attacks.
Sage Harpuia: The great Hunter Zero, running away from me? How the mighty have fallen!
Harpuia casted a Tornado down, ripping everything in front of it as it moved towards Zero. Zero began to wall jump on the canyon walls, narrowly dodging the tornado. Zero used the momentum of the wall jumping to grab onto Harpuia and slice him in the chest, sending him down to the ground. As Zero wrapped up his fight with Harpuia, he noticed Axl found a way to track Phantom. Axl pulled out his flamethrower and began to spray the place randomly, this caught the invisible Phantom off guard and to make sure he wasn't burnt, dodged the flames. But these flames forced his cloaking to shimmer, showing his position. Axl took advantage of these and shot his Freeze ray at Phantom, freezing him in ice. Whilst in Ice, Axl used his Copy chip to turn into Chill penguin and rammed into him, breaking the ice and sending him away. Phantom grunted and got up, same to Harpuia.
Sage Harpuia: You might've won this round Hunters, but we'll be back. So be happy you're not dead yet.
Harpuia and Phantom teleported back to their base, leaving Axl and Zero to run towards where the boss of the Canyon excavation team is. Grolar bear got up from his makeshift chair and looked at Zero and Axl.
