Description

Cloud Breathing is a variation of Mist Breathing that has originally 14 forms, but as the story progresses, the forms become 18. The user visualizes manipulating different types of clouds in opacity, thickness or scale, depending on the kind of form used. The reason for so many attacks are for the user to be as versatile and unpredictable in battle as possible.
Mist Breathing, being a variation of Wind and Water Breathing, it is closer to Wind, while Cloud Breathing is closer to the Water aspect.
The technique uses fast and powerful attacks at a short range while utilizing all the limbs of the user. It is known for its swiftness, blinding speed and obscurity. It takes inspiration mainly from Water Breathing and Water Breathing variations (Flower, Insect), but also Wind Breathing variations (Mist, Beast) and Thunder Breathing.
Cloud Breathing tends to have blindingly fast, powerful and obscure attacks that are meant to kill an enemy quickly, without much pain, but there are certain techniques that are known for being extremely painful and/or brutal (First, Fourth, Ninth, Eleventh, Twelfth forms).
The Cloud Breathing user is equipped with 2 short(er) and light twin nichirin katanas and special boots/shoes that are hiding another pair of nichirin blades, travelling along the outer side of the foot. The shoes are somewhat tall, in order to fit the blade deployment contraption, but they still remain light and have great footing, in order not to hinder the able capabilities of the user. By being short ranged, the technique endangers the well-being of the breather, so one must know how to evade/block attacks and escape extremely well to make up for it. Due to the creator's condition, the swords are 2/3 as long as a normal katana would be and half as heavy. That helps avoid strain, arm dislocation, fast exhaustion, ect. However, with regular swords, the attacks could have been more powerful, but they are already very powerful as they are. The current and only user cannot handle the weight of regular katanas, so he relies on his own raw power, instead of the force the weight creates, as it would dislocate his arm.
Slashes (with swords or hidden blades) have been recorded to be aimed upwards and/or at an angle when the user is on the ground, as they maintain a low body stance, while when the attacks are from the high-ground the attacks are aimed downwards and/or at an angle, or vertical- in which case the user has more open stance.
Cloud Breathing also has a benefit that (most of) the forms can be performed in rapid succession without any necessary pauses, just like in traditional martial arts. Specifically, the Second form can be paired with any defensive or offensive form, with the exceptions of the Sixteenth and Seventeenth forms, as the user doesn't use their swords or doesn't do so the "proper" way.
The breathing technique depends on the natural physical capabilities for the user the most, so it's extremely difficult for it to be cultivated. The user must be naturally fast, agile and strong, otherwise they aren't able to use Cloud Breathing properly. A user is also expected to have very sharp senses, otherwise the Fifteenth form cannot be used.

Forms

First Form: Sudden View of the Sun.

(Improvised/combined version of the Mist Breathing form: Low Clouds, Distant Haze and the Water Breathing form: Drop Ripple Thrust.) The user brings their swords together and stabs through their target, nullifying its movements. Once the momentum of the target has been halted, the user they pull their swords apart, outwards, in order to cut the object/body in half or decapitate their opponent. The user visualises their swords blowing away clouds to reveal the sun behind them.

Second Form: Finaly, Clearing.

User brings their swords close to their body and joins them in a "x" formation next to their own neck as the swords extend behind them, in a defensive stance. In order to attack, the user has to break apart that defense entirely, sliding their target vertically in a closed-cross pattern. The users limbs will reach their stretching limit by the end of the attack, leaving them completely unprotected and vulnerable. The attack is capable of slicing multiple opponents at once. This form is more likely to be used to end a battle, after nearly any other form (exceptions being forms 16 and 17). The user visualizes a clearing being created in a coud-covered sky, right before they slice their target, in a way signifying that the opening they have is completely clear.
