The morning came, but Y/N sort of slept through most of it. He woke up at around 6 p.m. and he panicked, because he isn't used to sleeping for that long. He got up slowly, still feeling fatigued and went to take a bath. In Final Selection he did clean himself on the third day, but he had no soap so he still felt gross. He also needed to change to cleaner clothes, as his were dirtied by the trees and grass he was sleeping on during the 4 days he spent on mountain Fujikage. That's when it actually hit him- he literally passed final selection by wiping out every demon on the mountain but one. He took a second to think to himself, pondering on of that really was a good idea, but all the relieved and happy faces of the participants by the end of it paid off. He smiled to himself. He was starting to gain some selt confidence, but then he instantly remembered that he was meant to spar the Water pillar today. His eyes widened in realization and hurried to get his bath over with. Stepping out and drying himself, he put on black hakama pants, a button up shirt and his new navy blue yukata on top. Without sparing a glass at himself on the mirror, he ran to the kitchen and ate some fried rice with egg and vegetable bits that he noticed were on the kitchen counter. He washed the utensils he had used after he was done with his food and stepped outside. The first thing that approached him was his own crow- that's also when he realised his crow had never spoken to him before, so he got a bit curious, but that was not important at the moment. "Hey, have you seen Tokito-kun?" He asked his crow, who simply nodded and flew off his arm, towards a certain direction, Y/N trailing behind it.
He was met with the sight of the Mist pillar cloud gazing again. It was a common occurrence, so Y/N really wasn't fazed. He simply walked and sat next to the higher-ranking demon slayer, waiting for the ravenette to acknowledge his presence. It usually took a while for the younger to notice the (h/c)ette, but this time it was different- like he had been expecting Y/N to approach him. "You slept for a while." He commented, his mint eyes staring right into the older's e/c ones. "Yeah. Thanks for not waking me up sooner..." The h/c male gave Muichiro a small smile, looking away and down at the grass. "Mm. You fainted yesterday. I assume you didn't get much sleep there." The teal-eyed boy said, looking back up at the sky, his expression remaining blank. "Yeah, I got around 6 hours of sleep these 4 days I was there, but that ensured my survival, at least." The Kanoe-ranked slayer confirmed, playing with the grass in front of him. "Hey, wasn't I supposed to spar Giyuu-san today?" Y/N suddenly asked, looking back at the ravenette, who just nodded. "I'll tell Ginko to tell the others to get here." He said, ready to get up, but a hand stopped him. "It's fine, I'll tell Raven to." The older boy said, getting up and walking up to a tree his crow sat at, extending his arm for it to land on. "Hey, could you please tell the Insect, Love and Water pillars to come to the Mist estate? Also let then know you're my crow, if that's alright." The boy smiled at his crow, earning a quiet nod from it, watching it fly off his forearm and towards the direction most pillar estates were located at. He walked back to his former sensei and sat on the grass again, both of them being enveloped into a comfortable silence as they waited for the pillars and Raven to get there.
The three Hashira came later than usual- especially Shinobu. Y/N just assumed she had been busy, while the other two didn't really feel like they needed to be on a rush. It's true, they didn't, but the Kanoe got a bit worried, thinking his friends could be injured or something. Suddenly, his crow landed on his shoulder, nuzzling his cheek, making the (h/c)ette giggle at the ticklish feeling the bird's black feathers gave him. "Hey guys!" He waved at his friends, getting up to especially hug Kanroji, since they had a little thing where they hug eachother a bunch. "Hello N/N-chan!!" Mitsuri cheered and hugged him back lightly, soon letting go of the boy. "Are you ready?" Giyuu suddenly asked, his eyes fixed on the younger male. "Hai, hai. I have to ask, though.. Is this going to be an all-out battle between us? With practice equipment, of course. But should I not hesitate to smack you or kick you when I can?" He asked the Water pillar, earning a small hum and a nod. "I'll do my best then!" Y/N said, running off to find practice some swords, obviously returning with 3. He tossed one to the older and walked to an open area the Mist estate's training grounds provided, taking his stance. "I'm not wearing my regular shoes, for obvious reasons, but if I kick you with the outter part of my foot anywhere, you either can't use that limb or you die, since I have blades down there." The (h/c)ette informed the pillar, who assumed a fighting stance. He took a lowered stance and waited for a signal.
