Ever since that first Hashira meeting Y/N had attended, it had been over a year and a half. He had specifically requested from Oyakata-sama that he wants to be sent on many missions, no matter the difficulty of them, as he still felt like he didn't deserve his title, in a way. He also wanted to gain a lot of experience on his own, instead of reading books on demon anatomy in the Butterfly estate in order to learn more about them. He learnt that most demons are ill-tempered, much like Shinazugawa, so if he were to piss them off, it was easier for him to kill them. Speaking of Shinazugawa, he also requested that he is never, in any way, shape or form, paired up with the Wind pillar, as he would end up dead because of his partner instead of the demon they were sent to fight. He did get sent to missions with his friends though, mainly with Giyuu, as they had great chemistry in fights. He never got to go on a mission with Muichiro, though, which was quite upsetting. He would have to ask Kagaya to be sent to one with him. After all, even almost 2 years later, they still lived together. In different rooms, yes, but they still shared the space of the Mist estate in general. Y/N's demeanor and personality gradually changed as well. He was a lot like Muichiro, when it came to being airheaded, talked even less, much like Giyuu, but also fawned over people's strength like Mitsuri and had the same intimidating aura as Shinobu. His 'flamboyance' also increased from hanging out with Tengen a lot. The Sound pillar's wives taught him how to do makeup, so now he does his regularly. He does tend to prefer darker colours and has an odd choice in his eyeliner shapes. Unlike most people, he puts the eyeliner and eyeshadow under his eye, to create an effect that Tengen thinks is flamboyant. He also occasionally uses black lipstick because he thinks it's cool. Sanemi tends to call him girly and tries to tease the boy, but he ends up getting beaten up by him or another pillar that is protective of Y/N. The (h/c)ette's appearance was definitely influenced by his teenage age, his friends and his own demeanor, but he liked himself as he was right now.
While a lot had changed about Y/N, he also became a lot more outgoing. Yes, normally ge isn't talkative, but whenever he meets lower ranked slayers, he changes his demeanor and plays a game with them, to guess his rank, depending on his aura and performance. What's sad, yet amusing about this game is that nobody ever guesses Y/N's rank correctly. Most people think he's a Hinoto, a Tsuchinoe or a Kinoe. The game goes on until his rank is revealed in some way or someone guesses correctly. That's when his attitude changes and he acts like his normal self. It's quite a fun game for him to play, because other slayers will do anything to figure it out- even challenge him into a fight (and get their ass beat in no more than 3 seconds). He also informed Raven of the game he plays, so the crow is careful enough not to reveal any information that could spoil the fun- he actually finds watching the interractions his owner has with fellow slayers quite amusing. Raven was probably the best crow out there, according to everyone Y/N had met, including himself. All the other crows were very loud and talkative, some were even aggressive when their owner didn't start running right away. Raven only ever resorted to violence if he couldn't get Y/N's attention when trying to give the young pillar information, and he only gave one peck, since it was enough for the Cloud Hashira to redirect his attention to the crow. The two really cared for eachother and Raven would often patrol areas and inform Y/N of any demon sightings during missions, or just guard his owner's blind spots- something that most crows never did, they just left it all down to their owner.
Today was one of those days that The Cloud pillar was busy. He had been assigned a mission to Mountain Natagumo, where a lot of low-ranking slayers had been dying. He was going there alone, fairly early in the day, but he did let Oyakata know that he will probably have to send backup at some point before he left. He was speeding his way to where his crow had shown him when he passed a trio of slayers that were walking the way there. It took a good second for his brain fo register the fact that he had passed someone, since he was travelling really fast, but he stopped himself and ran slower to meet them. 'How should I greet them? Should I play the game with them? What rank could they be?' He thought to himself as he looked up to the sky- something he'd picked up from the Mist pillar. When he reached the slayers, he decided to go for a cheerful act, since they seemed to be decently ranked, so thet could figure him out if he were more serious. "Uh, hello, fellow slayers! I'm sorry if I made too much dust fly around with my running!" Y/N smiled as he scratched the back of his neck. He didn't really know how to pull off a cheerful and happy-go-lucky attitude, so he thought he would try to act a bit like Mitsuri and Shinobu combined; an interesting mix to say the least. Y/N's cow flew down to rest on his owner's shoulder, watching quietly. Raven knew fully well what was going on, so he decided to observe.
