The battle between the Kinoe and the lower moon 3 was about to start. Obanai wasn't there, he went off to get his clothes, so there was no way to assure Y/N's survival while he was gone. The pillar mentioned that the demon was very fast- that worried the boy a lot. He was very fast himself, but he didn't know what to do in the case he was slower than the demon. He also didn't exactly know what the demon's blood demon art was. He could tell that blood had to be drawn for it to activate, but he didn't know what it could do. The two opponents stood in place, unmoving. Y/N was on the defensive, while the demon looked to be on the offensive, with its blood demon art. The (h/c)ette assumed it would be a range based demon art, since it wouldn't move any closer, and that was an even bigger problem. Cloud Breathing was short-ranged, so a demon with long-ranged attacks could be the death of him- quite literally. Suddenly, the demon activated it's blood art. "Blood Demon Art: Crimson Daggers." The blood the demon had drawn from it's body suddenly became spiky and sharp. "Demons multiply when a person's wound comes in contact with demon blood." The Insect pillar's words on the explanation of demon anatomy ringed through Y/N's head; he reminded himself to try his best not to be touched by the solidified blood. The daggers charged at him, but he either dodged or deflected them, making them disappear or melt when they'd touch the ground. He charged at the demon, aiming to decapitate its head, but the demon chanted something about his demon art. "Blood Demon Art: Solidification." The moment Y/N's blades touched the neck of the creature, they broke. The neck of it was harder than any boulder. The boy backed away quickly, his damaged swords in hand. When he looked at his blades, his breath hitched and became uneven. His arms shook slightly- it was the first time fear had ever taken over him in battle. Maybe he really didn't deserve to become a Hashira. Maybe he didn't even deserve the rank of Kinoe. Was this it? He wasn't done for- if he held on, Obanai would come back and kill the thing, but he didn't want to give up. He calmed his breathing and busy mind- displays of fear leaving as soon as they came. The demon looked upset at that.

Y/N assumed an attacking stance. "You are you going to fight me with shattered blades? You couldn't even cut my neck, what makes you think you can now?" The demon mocked, drawing more blood from its skin. "Blood Demon Art: Precise Pierce." A long, needle-like spear was created, floating into the air next to the head of the demon. "You're done for, demon hunter." It laughed, before sending the spear on its way. the spear was incredibly fast, so fast that the boy barely managed to dodge it- with no scratches thankfully. The dagger and spear attacks from the demon continued for a while, but the (h/c)ette was managing on his own. He was certain that the Serpent pillar was watching the fight. He could feel the man's eyes on him as he swayed his body in order to evade attacks, after all. The teenager was very thankful he was so goddamn agile and had such good reflexes for no reason, otherwise he would be demon food a while now and especially right now, where he couldn't block the demon art, he was burning up all of his energy just to dodge or leap away. It was truly a difficult fight- it seemed impossible. He knew that the Hashira supervising him must've been face-palming, because yes, he really did look pathetic that moment. A sudden idea interrupted Y/N's thoughts, reminding him of a certain form that was part of his breathing technique, however it was highly dangerous, depending on how it would be used and on the situation it would be used. It could work right now, but it's likely that he would get stabbed in the process, or that he would break his legs due to the impact of the neck clashing with the blade on his foot, or the way he would land. He was hesitant, but the more he thought about it, the slower did he get. An attack nearly hitting him and cutting a part of his uniform, made the boy realise that if he didn't do it now, he would probably die.

'I'll use that form, even if it breaks my damn legs.' Y/N thought to himself, before leaping incredibly high in the air. He took a deep breath before chanting the name and number of the form he was about to use. "Cloud Breathing: Twelfth form; Leap of Faith" he said, as he charged, head first towards his target. The demon sent another spear Y/N's way, but using his breathing he dodged with ease. As he was about to deliver the blow, he twisted his body, so his foot could deliver a vertical turning kick to the neck, breaking it off due to it becoming solid again, his body located now behind the demon as he landed. His landing wasn't as graceful as that kick's performance, making it that the boy sprained his ankle. The demon was enraged to say the least. It wanted to kill his murderer before it crumbled away, at least. Both bodies were on the ground, making it so either of them were vulnerable, especially Y/N. "Blood Demon Art: Crimson Daggers.." A lot of sharp dagger-shaped solidified blood formed all above Y/N- they were way more than the first time. The boy widened his eyes, ready to leap away with his one safe foot, but the attack never came. Charging such a large-scale attack took the dying demon so long that it just crumbled away. The boy sighed, letting all of his boy weight collapse against the green grass. His h/c locks were soiled and sticking to his forehead from the amount of sweat he'd shed during the battle. He felt gross, his uniform was sticking to his skin and he probably smelled like a sewer rat, but he didn't care. He started chucking to himself, which slowly turned into joyous laughter, despite the overwhelming pain on his leg that he could feel swelling by the second. The pillar slowly approached him, looming over him as his face was shadowed by the lack of lighting. "Good job." The older male said picking up Y/N and throwing him over his shoulder. The boy only hummed and closed his eyes, very clearly exhausted and in pain. The battle had lasted for a while after all- it had been around an hour since the demon had attacked the Serpent Hashira. The older male decided it would be best to just head to the Butterfly estate instead of staying the night over at some other village, so he began running the way to the mansion.
