Y/N walked into the gardens of the Headquarters and went to the regular meeting place. The pillars had been summoned for a meeting and Tanjiro's trial. The Cloud Hashira was expecting the trial to go very wrong, so he was already pissed off. His footsteps were heavy when he got to where all the other pillars were- except Sanemi. Everyone's eyes landed on him, who walked and sat next to Muichiro. Tanjiro was on the ground, passed out whild a kakushi desperately trying to wake up the injured boy. The (h/c)ette sighed and watched at his new friend woke up. "The pillars are now present!!" The kakushi said, once Tanjiro was fully conscious. Y/N sighed again, watching his peer look around frantically in an attempt to figure out where he was. "What is this place..?" Tanjiro said, but his face was shoved into the dirt by the kakushi. Y/N stood up and went up to the two. "Please, be more gentle. He is already injured." He said to the male, watching as the kakushi bowed his head apologetically, with a stoic expression. "My apologies, L/N-sama! I will be!" He said letting go of Tanjiro's head. The action made the young pillar go back to his spot. Shinobu was the first to speak up after that, breaking the silence. "This is the Headquarters of the Demon Slayer Corps. You are now on trial, Kamado Tanjiro-kun." She said, smiling down at the boy. The air was tense- everyone knew there were going to be different opinions on this matter, yet somehow, Y/N was certain that this would play out in Tanjiro's favour, somehow.

"There is no need for a trial here! Protecting demons is a clear violation of conduct! We can deal with this ourselves! We'll decapitate every demon!" The Flame pillar exclaimed, his smile shining brightly. "Then let me cut her head off, flamboyantly. I'll show I can spray blood more flamboyantly than anyone else. It'll be flamboyant flamboyance." The Sound pillar added. Much as Y/N cared for Kyojiro and Tengen, he really wanted to punch both of them in the gut right now. The Love pillar seemed to be deep in though, yet the (h/c)ette knew she was supporting Tanjiro in silence. "Ahhh.. What a shoddy child she is. How sorrowful. It's so sorrowful that she was born into this world." The Stone pillar said with tears flowing down his cheeks as he rubbed his praying beads between his large hands. The Mist pillar was just casually staring off into space, probably trying to remember the name of some cloud. It made Y/N mentally facepalm. "Let's kill her." Gyomei said. "Uh-huh!" Kyojiro agreed enthusiastically. "Yeah. Flamboyantly." Tengen also agreed, his voice a bit bored. Tanjiro seemed to panic, but another voice caught his attention. "More importantly, what're we gonna do with Tomioka and L/N? Seeing them both without restrains gives me a headache." The Serpent pillar butted in, making Y/N scowl in annoyance. "According to Kochou, Tomioka and L/N violated the Demon Slayer Conduct as well. How will we de with them? Make them take responsibility? How are we gonna make them suffer?" He continued, which had Mitsuri fangirling in the sidines, but suddenly Y/N got up. "Obanai, if you want a reason to have people restrain me, I'll gladly slit your throat right here and now." The Cloud pillar threatened, glaring at the man on the tree. The Water pillar only stayed silent about this. "Well, it should be fine, since both of them came here wilfully, so let's think of a punishment later." The Insect pillar said, ignoring the argument between the two males. "More importantly, I want to hear the boy's story." She said, paying attention to Tanjiro now. Mitsuri oy continued fawning over her fellow pillars, now looking at Y/N and Giyuu.

Tanjiro was about to speak up, but he was cut off by a coughing fit- his throat was too dry and he was in too much pain to speak. "He should get some water." Shinobu commented, taking out a gourd. "Drink slowly, this has a painkiller mixed so it will ease your pain. It won't heal your injuries, so don't push yourself." She said, then let Tanjiro drink the contents of the gourd. Once he was finally feeling better, he spoke up. "...My little sister was turned into a demon, but she has never eaten anyone before! Up until now and from now on, she has never and will never hurt a living person." Tanjiro tried to resonate, but he didn't seem to be getting any positive reactions. "Don't spit out stupid, rash remarks so recklessly. For starters, of course she'd protect her family. I can't trust anything you're saying." Obanai retorted, which made Y/N scoff quietly. "Ahhhh.. He's obsessed. Let's kill this child quickly and and his suffering." Gyomei said as he continued praying and crying. "Please listen!! I became a swordsman to cure Nezuko! It's been two years since Nezuko became a demon and in that time she hasn't eaten a person!!" The Mizunoto tried to explain, but the pillars still seemed unconvinced. "Your story is simply going around in circles. She hasn't eaten a person and she won't eat people from now on. Don't just give us lip service and show us a more flamboyant explanation." The Sound Hashira said, his tone getting angrier. Muichiro was still not paying attention. "Muichiro that's a damn crow, stop staring at it like it's alien." Y/N whispered-yelled to his friend, who simply looked at him and gave a nod. The voice of Mitsuri caught everyone's attention. "Ummm. But I have a question... It doesn't seem like Oyakata-sama has grasped this matter yet, is it okay for us to be dealing with this on our own, like that?" She asked, everyone fell silent. Y/N made a mental note to treat the pinkette to a lot of sakura mochi later.
