Chapter 11

Matt's POV

I've figured it out. It's Julia. Look. Cassie's my best friend, and I don't want to mess that up. Everything would change if our relationship was promoted.

Look. I don't think I was in love with Cassie. It's probably because I'm not used to being alone. Julia's so hot. Cassie? I can't look at my sister that way... She's my sister.

So, yes. I choose Julia. I just don't know how to tell Cassie.

Cassie's POV

Today is Halloween. It's also Nevada Day, so there's no school. I spent literally my whole day in my room... in my bed. I never got out. My brother was being nice to me because I'm supposed to watch him tonight, but I'm letting him hang out with his friends. So, if he does what I ask, I'll let him go out. My brother is 13... if you were curious.

Anyway, my brother brought me breakfast and lunch. Most of time, I slept or just lied down; staring at the ceiling. I was thinking about Matt. "He loves me, He loves me not."

I don't think I'm going out tonight. I told my mom this, and now I'm handing out candy while my parents go to their friends' house party.

I mean, honestly, this isn't the worst case scenario. It would be better if I was brave and went to the party Evan's throwing tonight... and Matt will be there. I could swoop in and get him before it's too late...

But it's too late. Look, I'm sure most of you think I should get my butt off the couch and write a quick note and leave it on the bowl saying "Pick One" (with the knowledge of knowing that there will be a group of kids who think they're badass and well take the whole bowl's serving) and drive to the party. I just have this feeling that he's with Julia right now. I bet you 10 bucks. I told you this won't work.
