Evan's POV

Although she had been in the hospital for 3 days, she still looked beautiful. I was just too nervous to tell her that. Even in her deep sleep, she portrayed an angel. What I don't understand is how I just noticed her now. I've known Cassie since elementary school, but something sparked all of a sudden. All along I thought of Cassie as Matt's annoying other best friend. Then, a couple days ago, I saw a completely different girl. I forgot about all of our past for some reason, and she just caught my eye.

Now all I wanted to do was to get to know her. I just wanted to hang out with her. She's been asleep for so long, but I still came. I even got to get to know her parents; I really hope they like me.

So finally, she was awake. Now was my chance.

"So what have people been saying about me?" She asked.

I looked down, shook my head, and chuckled, "They all feel for you. Most are mad at Matt."

"They found out about what happened with Matt?" She sat up all worried; it was pretty cute.

I smiled at her.

"What?" She said slowly and started to smile back.

"Nothing. You're just really cute."

She laughed and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"I'm sorry. Was that too much?" I rubbed the back of my neck.

"No. That actually made me feel better after being asleep for so long."

"I'm glad."

So, we just talked. We just got to know each other, and she turned out to be nothing I thought she was before. She was not annoying, not boring, and not like other girls. We had a lot in common, and I didn't want to lose her.

Cassie's POV

Evan was not the person I thought he was. The Evan being a dick was just an act. He was genuine, and funny, and smart, and I think I'm beginning to like him. But it's too soon to say. Maybe this is the start of something new.
