Part 5

(Y/N) POV

You wake up before Alex in the morning and get up, looking at him sleeping on the way out of the room, the side of his face black and blue. You go into your bag and get some pain killers and a glass of water and put it beside the bed for him for when he wakes up and then go make some food for you both.

You walk back through into the bedroom with some breakfast as he starts waking up,
"good morning, hows your head?" You tilt your head looking at him and he moans in pain and holds his head, you point at the pain killers you'd not long put out and he sat up and took them,
"thank you," he looks at you trying to smile but clearly in pain. You smile back and tell him to eat and he doesn't hesitate to dig in. You take the dishes away and bring back his, now clean burgundy hoodie that you washed last night, without hesitation he takes his shirt off and puts on his hoodie, leaving his hood up to hide all the bruising to his face. You cant help but stare until he looks up at you and you quickly look away.
"Hey, do you want to go for a walk today? I know this really nice place, its beautiful, i only ever go their with my dogs. I've never taken anyone else there before, or even told anyone where it is actually," Alex says to you jumping up off the bed, you nod and smile,
"just let me get dressed, I'll be quick!" You rush to get ready and shout for Alex when you are dressed and ready to go.
You both walk to Alex's house chatting with each other until you see a familiar face heading towards you, not the familiar face you want to see... Oliver.
Alex pulls his hood over his face again and you see him clench his fist, you reach out for his hand and he relaxes and lets you hold his hand and you interlock fingers, he does the same with your hand looking down smiling. Alex looks back up at Oliver giving him a dirty look as you walk past him, you both carry on walking a bit further before either of you speak.
"He looked worse off than you, i think you win. I also don't know whether to say thank you or well done for not trying to kill him again," you look up at Alex trying not to laugh, he chuckles and shakes his head after you say it. You feel Alex's grip get tighter in your hand and remember you're actually holding hands with him,
"you can let go now you know," Alex looks down at his hand interlocked with yours before letting go nodding. You walk the rest of the way to his house side by side.

When you got to Alex's house, you were shocked to see the size of it! You walk through the front door and were attacked by two dogs, you immediately kneel down to pet them and make a fuss and Alex's mom came through right as Alex runs upstairs to get ready.
"Oh hello. You must be... (Y/N), right?" You nod looking at her confused as to how she knows you.
"it's nice to finally meet you, Alex talks about you a lot! He messaged me last night to explain everything and said you were taking good care of him. Thank you sweetie," she comes up and hugs you, you hug her back before stepping back smiling at her awkwardly.
"It was all kinda my fault anyways, I shouldn't have let him get involved," you say back to his mom looking down kicking your feet nervously. She laughs and shakes her head in response,
"it doesn't matter what you say to him, he'd still get involved, he has a big heart... especially for the ones he really likes!" She winks at you before walking into the kitchen.
Alex comes down stairs and sees you blushing and rolls his eyes, knowing exactly why that was, then gets the dogs ready to go out.
"Mom, we're going for a walk, we're taking Roscoe and Finn, see ya!" Alex shouts through to his mom, you shout bye too and she shouts it back.

Alex loads the dogs in the truck and you both get in and he takes you to his 'secret, beautiful walk.'
He doesn't speak much the whole drive only to tell you its a bit of a drive and just looks out of his window like its his first time driving around and sings along to his music.
You sit and message Mahkaila telling her shes coming to the race at Charlotte and send her a screenshot of the ticket you got her, followed by a plane ticket and wait for her response. A couple minutes later you get a reply all in capitals "OMG" followed by lots of crying emojis, you message again saying you will meet her at the airport when she lands. She sends you more crying emojis and you laugh before telling her you need to go and you'll message her later.

You finally get to where Alex had been talking about and set off walking. You start talking about Mahkaila and let Alex know she is coming to the race and that she's a huge fan of Chase.
"That's cool, she's in luck too, he's single now!" You both laugh and carry on walking up the hill.
You both sit down at the top of the hill on a rock and watch the sun set and start talking about Chase. Alex FaceTimes him and asks how he's doing and explains you have a friend coming over to watch the race and tells him how much she loves him, Chase laughed after being told.
"Does she have any socials?" Chase asks you and you explain she uses her instagram often and give him her user.
"Ive followed her back so expect a message. Listen I gotta go, see you guys later!" Chase ends the call and you get a message from Mahkaila freaking out because Chase had followed her back.
She sends a screenshot of a message Chase sends her saying "I've heard you'll be at the race this weekend and you're a big fan? I look forward to seeing you, stick with (Y/N) and I'll catch up with you!" You message back some smiley faces and put your phone away.

You look back up at Alex who is taking in the view stood up by a fence, you get up and stand at the fence with him leaning against it.
"Wow... Alex, it really is beautiful up here," you say in awe at the scenery, he smiles looking at you and then back into the distance. You both stand and take in the views and get a few photos.
"Hey (Y/N)... i just want to say thank you for last night," you looked at him confused.
"You know, the fact you took me in and looked after me?" You smile back at him and look down nervous again.
"Oh that... its fine, i owed you one after everything that happened," you wink at him smiling before crouching down to pet Roscoe and Finn.

After a few minutes, you headed back to Alex's truck and set off back. The drive back seemed awkward between you both and silent again, he drops you off at home and thanks you for a good day and waits until you get inside before driving off. You go for a shower and then straight to bed. You sit in bed and look at your phone and see you had been added to a group chat by Chase with Alex and Mahkaila, it was quiet for a few minutes until you broke the silence-
(Y/N)- what's going on?
Mahkaila- no idea but I'm freaking out!
(Y/N)- haha you get used to the idiots eventually🤣
Alex- I hope you mean Chase!
(Y/N)- nope, you too😉
Alex- wow, after everything I've done for you🥺
(Y/N)- I'm joking you big wet wipe! I love you really💙
Mahkaila- aww🥺
Chase- hold up... I'm no idiot either, I haven't done anything for you though😶
Chase- "i love you really"😏what did we miss?!
(Y/N)- I'm joking! And nothing, you've missed nothing! What's the reason for the group chat though?👀
Chase- just wanted somewhere we can all talk if anything happens this weekend, I'm looking forward to seeing you Mahkaila😊
Mahkaila- I cant wait, I'm packed and ready to leave already! I don't think I'll sleep tonight, I've barely stopped crying since (Y/N) messaged me!😭💙
Chase- not long now! You'll be here soon!😊
Mahkaila- thank you guys for making this happen! Ily
Alex- it was (Y/N)'s idea, she's pretty cool🙂
Mahkaila- just cool? Didn't you sleep at hers last night?😏
Chase- WHAT?! ALEX! Please explain
Alex- 🤦🏻it was nothing, she looked after me, i was in pain, thats all. We just slept🤷🏻
Mahkaila- in the same bed!👀
Chase- things just get better😏
Alex- ok ok, we'll see how it is this weekend then huh, someone in this chat is bound to be in your bed and it wont be me🤣
Chase- never you dude🤣
(Y/N)- you guys are like kids🤦🏼‍♀️
Mahkaila- 🤣🤣
(Y/N)- I'm going to sleep, night guys💙see you tomorrow Mahkaila!
Mahkaila- me too gn and thank you guys! Cant wait!💙

You put your phone down making sure its on charge and laugh to yourself at the boys. You lie down looking at the ceiling smiling to yourself thinking about your day before rolling over and going to sleep.
