Part 35

Your POV- continued

You and Mahkaila sit and watch the race, both on the edge of your seats. Its the final few laps and Chase is up front, you and Mahkaila stand up watching and screaming. After a final pit, you watch Kyle get to the front, his pit crew jump and scream and you hold your head.
"He's got it!" You shout and turn to Mahkaila who's face drops.
The race finishes and Kyle wins, the cup series champ is Larson.

You both head over to Chase's pit, Mahkaila seems pretty down, you put your arm around her walking to his pit and he gets out of his car and runs up to her, thanks you and hugs Mahkaila.

You smile and pat his shoulder saying well done and walk to Alex's car.
He climbs out looking down and notices you and smiles running up to you, he grabs you hugging you picking you up off the floor. You hug him back laughing down his ear and he puts you back down.
"I finished in one piece, just for you! Pretty bummed about it though." He says and looks down.
"Hey, i got some good news!" You hold his face and he looks at you.
"Mr.H asked me if i wanna be a PR... for you or Will next season!" You shout excited, he smiles and hugs you again.
"Thats great news! But please tell me your coming to be mine? Don't think i could cope, knowing you'd be with him more than me!" He says holding your cheeks, you smirk at him.
"Bit jealous, Mr Bowman?" You bite you lip smirking and he shakes his head at you, you hug him laughing.
You both start walking away, you head back to Alex's trailer and are met by Chase and Mahkaila.
"Unlucky man!" Alex says patting Chase on the back and you all walk to the trailer.

Will and his girlfriend join you after a short while and sit down outside of the trailer and they all chat. You sit in silence for a while, not really knowing what to do or say. You get up and go inside for a drink and hear someone behind you, you turn to see Will, he smiles and walks up to you.

"You ok? You've been real quiet lately?" He says walking past you and getting a drink.
"Well done today, Will." You say, ignoring him.
"Thanks! Now, what's up?" He asks again, you freeze not knowing what to say. You grab your drink and shake your head and walk away. He grabs your arm and you turn around to face him.
"(Y/N), what's wrong? You seem to have ignored me all day, i even said it to the guys over my radio, they said i sounded bummed before the race." He says holding your arm still. You feel your heart racing and hold back a smile and just look down at his hand and shake your head.
"Its nothing. I'm happy for you Will." You smile at him and turn around walking out.

William POV

You watch her walk out and your heart breaks a little. "What have i done? Why is she ignoring me? Have I just lost my best friend?" Is all you can think.
You wait a minute calming yourself before walking back out with a fake smile. You sit beside your girlfriend and she smiles at you and leans into you, you cant help but look across at (Y/N), she looks away when you look over. You immediately look at Mahkaila and she looks away from (Y/N) and looks at you and notices you looking and then looks away. You look at them both suspiciously.

Your girlfriend soon disappears to see her friends in town, you go say bye and head back to Alex's trailer. You get back and only the girls are there, they tell you the boys went to grab food for you all and you nod before sitting down with them both.
They both look at each other and back down and don't say anything.

"Right, cut the shit! Whats going on?! Why you both being all weird around me? What have i done?!" You start shouting and (Y/N) doesn't look at you or move. Mahkaila looks up at you and looks at (Y/N), seeing she isn't looking and then back to you, you narrow your eyes at her.
"She has feelings for you! I'm sorry, (Y/N)! I couldn't not tell him, i feel bad!" She shouts and immediately turns to apologise to her.
"Wow, thanks a lot!" She gets up shouting at Mahkaila and starts walking away. You look at Mahkaila and she shrugs and apologises, you run after her. She sees you running towards her and starts running to get away.

"(Y/N)! Stop, please!" You shout still behind her and she stops out of breath eventually.
"Hey... calm down!" You shout at her and hug her, holding her head against your chest, you feel her arms wrap around your back.
"Is that really what's wrong?" You ask her still holding her, she just looks up at you and looks back down, you let go of her after this.
"Come on, its quite cold out!" You say putting your arm around her walking back, you stop at your trailer to grab a hoodie and invite her in while you find one.

You go into your room to search for a hoodie and she sits down while she waits.
"You know, i only started mingling to get over you. You're killing me girl!" You shout through to her still looking for a hoodie, she doesn't say anything back. You finally find your hoodie and walk through and she just looks at you and smiles.

"Its fine. I can see how happy you are, so just ignore... this." She says awkwardly pointing at herself. You laugh and shake your head at her and start heading out, she gets up and follows you out.
The walk back was awkward, neither of you talked, you had all kinds of thoughts going through your head. You get back and Chase is back with Alex and both sat with Mahkaila.
"You two ok?" Alex and Chase ask at the same time and laugh at each other, Mahkaila avoids eye contact with you both. You both nod and sit down where you were earlier.

You sit down right as Alex puts music on, you all look at (Y/N) waiting for her to get up dancing but she doesn't get up. Alex looks at her confused and then to Chase, then changes the song.
Imagine Dragons starts playing and you look across at Mahkaila biting your bottom lip, she pulls an awkward face at you and you both look over to (Y/N) and watch her roll her eyes and shake her head and get her phone out starting to scroll.
Your phone starts ringing and you see its your girlfriend and head off to answer it.

A few days later...

Mahkaila POV

You walk into HMS hand in hand with Chase, Alex and (Y/N) beside you holding hands and Will was already here. You all walk in and get stopped by Mr.H stood with Will,
"Can i have a quick word with you guys?" He gestures for the nearest room and you all walk in. He congratulates the boys and thanks them, they do the same back and then he turns to you saying he's looking forward to next season for you joining the team as Chase's PR and then looks at (Y/N).

"So I've been thinking about you being a PR, how'd you like to be Byron's? I see how well you two get on, you seem really good friends, might be better you... so you and Alex here aren't always together?" He says, you all look at each other and she looks at Alex, who's face drops.
"You know, i think id rather be Alex's... is that ok? Sorry Will." She says back and Mr.H looks quite surprised and nods his head.
"I guess that's fine, sure! Will, looks like your PR is staying!" He says patting him on the back before walking out. You look at Will, he looks kinda bummed and doesn't look at any of you and walks out after Mr.H without saying anything to any of you.

"You don't have to be my PR cause you're my girlfriend you know!" Alex says turning to her, she nods and smiles at him and pulls his arm dragging him out of the room, you and Chase follow and walk down to her office. You and Chase smile at each other holding hands walking down to her office.

You all go in and sit down in her office while she sits at her desk.
"So, are we going to talk about Will or we just forgetting that?" You ask awkwardly breaking the silence looking at (Y/N).
"Yeah, he seemed pretty bummed when you asked to be Alex's instead of his..." Chase butts in backing your point. Alex nods as well and rolls his eyes, you know he doesn't want to agree but you all seen it.
(Y/N) rubs her head for a minute before speaking.
"I'll talk to him..." she says moaning.
"Hey, do you all wanna grab something to eat? Nice meal somewhere and a couple drinks maybe?" Alex asks you all, you look at Chase and both nod.
"Sounds good to me! I could eat!" You say and then look at (Y/N).
"Yeah, I'll just go find Will and talk to him. I'll see if he wants to come too. Meet you guys out front in 15?" She says getting up to leave the room, you all agree and she heads off to find Will. You guys go out to the front and wait by the cars.
