Part 9

Chase POV

"How about we play a little game while we wait?" You suggest after the waitress disappears, everyone nods except Alex.
"Alex, you in?" Everyone looks at him awaiting his response,
"ok fine," he gives in to peer pressure.
"Ok then! Let's play a game of truth or dare!" You say slamming your hands on the table getting excited, you reach and grab a bottle of sauce to spin in the middle of the table, spin it and it lands on William,
"i choose dare!" William says raising an eye brow.
"Ok, i dare you... to go ask that girl over there if she wants to go for dinner some time!" You say after looking around,
"dude i have a girlfriend!" He shouts back in disbelief shaking his head,
"a dare's a dare!" He shook his head and got up and walked over and chatted to the girl and turned back after a couple seconds,
"she said no, thank god!" You all laugh and he sits back down.

You spin again and this time it lands on Alex, he looks more nervous than he did earlier now.
"Alex, truth or dare?" You say watching every move he makes as he fidgets clearly feeling uncomfortable,
"umm, truth" you think for a second,
"is it true that you still love Rachel from the office after your date?" You watch as Alex's eyes widen, Mahkaila looks at you shocked and then to (Y/N) who's smile disappears from her face,
"yikes!" William says scratching his head, you watch Alex look down at (Y/N).
"I need the bathroom," (Y/N) stands up shuffling past everyone quickly,
"me too!" Mahkaila gets up and quickly follows her to the bathroom.
"Nice one Chase!" William says shaking his head.
"I'm sorry, i didn't know what else to say! Did you want me to make things worse and ask if he secretly loves (Y/N)?! Cause we all know thats true!" You raise your voice back at William.
"I'd have honestly preferred that man! I barely even know her, never mind like her after a date that we never even went on! And now (Y/N) hates me!" Alex shouts putting his head in his hands. You cant help but feel guilty and apologise again.

Alex POV
You sit at the table with your head in your hands, trying to calm yourself down before you hurt Chase. You didn't go out with her and he knows that, but (Y/N) and Mahkaila didn't know that. You wish you could turn back time and for Chase to ask you what you thought he was going to say.

"Guys, i need some fresh air, I'll be outside." You get up and walk outside and go sit over at your truck leaning against the wheel. You get your phone out and see you've had a messages from the group chat-
Chase- (Y/N)?
Chase- are you ok?
Mahkaila- she's fine.
Mahkaila- shes got her phone, she's reading the messages
Chase- ok... listen if i knew you would've reacted like this i would never have said it!
Alex- what the fuck made you think it was ok to chat shit in the first place?!
Chase- it didn't plan out this way when i thought of it!
Chase- I've said I'm sorry, what more can i do?
Alex- tell them it isn't true
Mahkaila- its not?
Alex- no it isn't! Tell them Chase!
(Y/N)- Alex, i don't care if it is.
Alex- it isn't!
Alex- Chase!
Mahkaila- she doesn't care Alex
Alex- guys, I'm gonna go home, I'll catch you all tomorrow.

You get in your truck and turn off your phone before setting off, you fight tears the whole drive back to your house.

(Y/N) POV-

You read the last message in the chat from Alex and walk out of the cubicle you were in to find Mahkaila stood waiting for you.
"Are you ok?" She asks, you don't say anything.
"He's gone?" You question and walk out of the toilets, Mahkaila nearly running to keep up with you.

You lock eyes with the door and head straight for it, Chase and William see you coming, William stands up and grabs your arm pulling you back,
"he's already gone," he says putting his hand on your shoulder.
"Listen, lets just sit and eat and then we can sort something," William says whilst pushing you back to sit down. You sit back down and look at Chase who looks at you like he's going to cry,
"its ok Chase honestly, it just kinda took me by surprise thats all," you say to him trying to reassure him,
"I'm really sorry! He didn't really you know, i just thought it would be..." Chase was cut off by the waitress bringing the food.

You all sit and eat not talking much until you were all finished.
"Good news, Ryan has messaged me saying he can take us all home! He's actually outside now!" You all gather your things and head outside. You all greet Ryan and thank him for coming, the boys fill him in with what's happened on the drive back.
First you drop off William and then get to your apartment,
"hey (Y/N), Mahkaila is staying with me tonight. That's if she wants to?" Chase turns to Mahkaila who smiles and nods.
"Ok, i guess I'll see you guys tomorrow. Be good! I'm talking to you Chase!" You get out the car laughing and walk up to your door, you unlock it and wave as they drive away smiling to yourself walking in.

You get inside and take your shoes off dropping everything at the door and went and flopped onto the couch. You get out your phone and try calling Alex, unsure of what you would even say to him if he answered, but his phone is switched off.
You start getting worried and ring William asking if he has heard from Alex and he answers straight away,
"not since he took off earlier, I've tried ringing him but i think he turned off his phone. I'm sure he'll be fine, you get some sleep, don't worry about him, he's a big boy. I'm sure he'd be in touch if he needed one of us." You know William is smiling while saying this down the phone,
"i hope you're right, I'm kinda worried." He reassures you and you say goodnight to him and hang up.
Still concerned, you message Alex- "ring me when you get this please" and then go get yourself a drink.
You check your phone before heading to your bedroom seeing no new notification and your heart breaks that little bit more.

You get to your bedroom door and walk in to see none other than Alex sat on the edge of your bed.
"What the f... why are you here? How did you get in? Do you not know how to answer your phone?!" Lots of questions run through your head, you were hurt, worried and annoyed all at once, he stood up and walked over to you taking your drink and phone, putting them aside and holding your hands. You feel yourself start shaking unsure of what he's going to do or say, but mostly concerned about how the hell he got into your locked apartment!
