Chapter Thirty Four-
Kellin's POV
The day Oli threatened to tell Vic's parents about us, Vic called me almost an hour after I last saw him, worrying me before I even answered the call. Slowly, I picked up my phone, accepting the call from my boyfriend. "What's up Vic?" I asked him curiously, walking back into my room and out of the living room, which I had been currently in.
"Hey, would you mind coming over?" I was going to question it, but his voice was shaky, which worried me. Was he okay? Had Oli already told his parents? Had it been that bad? What if he had relapsed and hurt himself? What if he cut way to deep? What if he was slowly bleeding out. Millions of thoughts were running through my head, and none of them were very happy.
"I'll be right over." I said, before hanging up and grabbing my shoes that were laying around my bedroom floor. Quickly, I ran out of my room, yelling to my mom, "Vic needs me! Be back in like an hour or two!" Before I ran out of the house, not before grabbing the keys to my mom's car.
The drive there felt like hours, when it reality it was probably only minutes. But the entire time we drove there, I was silently freaking out. What if it was so much worse then what I excepted? What if his dad hit him again? What if he physically hurt him so bad that Vic was lying in his room, riving in pain on his floor?
I was surprised that I hadn't crashed on the drive there, but soon enough, I was turning off the ignition and racing out of the car, and to the front door of Vic's house. Briefly, I wondered why I didn't go through the back, but I realized that wasn't the best idea. Then again neither was this. Either way, I knocked on the door, waiting for someone to answer.
Minutes later, Mike opened the door raising an eyebrow at me. "Where's Vic?" I asked quickly, tapping my foot impatiently.
"He's in his room.." Mike said, stepping back from the door. I nodded, walking past him and upstairs, where I knew Vic's room was. Distantly, I could hear someone, a women, on the phone with someone. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but I knew that it was Vic's mom. Quietly, I walked past the room and to where Vic's room door was, knocking on the door quietly.
"Hey, Vic? It's Kellin." I said, ignoring the fact that his mom was probably just down the hall and his dad could be anywhere. I needed him to hear me. I heard him make some kind of noise of acknowledgement, so I took that as the okay sign I needed and walked in. When I did, I was completely relieved to see Vic sitting on his bed, strumming mindlessly on his one and only acoustic guitar. He had another guitar, and electric, and an amp for it, but he rarely played that, only when he was working on songs, or so he told me.
He looked up from his guitar, smiling at me. Vic got up and put his guitar in the corner of the room, before he walked over to me, grinning. I let out a sigh of relief, wrapping my arms around him tightly. Oh Thank god he was alright, I thought to myself, breathing in the scent that was completely Vic. "Um, hello to you too?" He said, well more questioned. I grinned to myself. It may have been a little weird how I just pulled him into a tight hug, even though I just saw him a couple hours ago, but still. I had been worried sick.
"Sorry, I was just really concerned when you just randomly called me." I told him, not loosening the hug one bit. I had been worried sick about him, he might as well just get comfortable where he's standing.
"Oh yeah, if you want to be close, we could just go cuddle on my bed and I'll tell you what happened?" Vic said. I pulled back a little, and saw that his cheeks were the slightest shade of red. I laughed a little, but nodded, letting go of him, but grabbing his hand and pulling him next to me on his bed. Vic smiled at me, wrapping his arm around my waist as we laid there on his bed. "Ok, so. Oli told my parents about us."
My eyes widened, and I sat up quickly to look him in the eyes. "Oh my god, Vic. Did your dad hurt you? Are you okay? Do you need to stay at my house for a little while because my mom would be completely okay with that-!"
Vic caught me off, covering my mouth with his hand. "Relax, babe. My dad hit me, yes. That's why my cheeks a little red." He explained. I briefly looked at his cheek, gently cupping the one that seemed a little more red then the over. Vic lost eye contact with me. "And, whenever he did slap me. My mom stepped in." My eyes widened. "Yeah, I know. She told him, "how dare you hit our son" And she basically yelled bloody murder at him after she told me to go upstairs. I didn't hear any of the argument, but she did tell me when she went up here to see me that she wanted me and Mike to be happy again, and that if dad didn't get his act together, then she'd file for a divorce. I guessed dad stormed out and went to a bar or something after that." Vic told me, grinning at the end. I couldn't help but smile at him too. Finally, things were getting better for him. I know, if I told him, he'd say that things got better whenever we first got together, but that wasn't completely true. Not everything was better. But now? This was a big and great change for him. Way bigger then us getting together.
"Vic, this is great!" I told him, smiling at him. This was perfect, things were finally taking a turn for the best, for all of us. The school accepted us, Vic's mom was finally changing, his dad may either clean up his act or leave, sadly, I'd guess the later. But, either way, it'd be good for him. Everything was right for once.
